  1. Hi. I received a similar worded Notice today and phoned the local court whose number was on the Notice and they told me that they would be in touch in due course. I actually don't mind having to wait a bit for the court date as it gives me plenty of time to prepare. There's so much helpful info on this site in the 'later stages' links to read through and give you confidence. I know it is daunting but it is do-able!!
  2. Good news ymb! Well done. Do I understand you right that between the assignment of court date and the actual court date, the banks got in touch with you and offered a settlement?
  3. I received a Notice of Transfer of Proceedings today transferring my case to my local court. Does anyone know approx how long it takes from transfer to actual hearing? What are the experiences of other claimants?Just wondering how much time I've got to do some preparation. My claim is against the Woolwich/Barclays. I was relieved to find so much useful information on this site for the later stages of the bank charge claim -now my terror has subsided into mere anxiety!!
  4. Panicking as usual! I couldn't get through on the line so called in the CAG cavalry. Have spoken to moneyclaim online help desk and a very helpful person said what ziggyzoomer said above - they had received an acknowledgement of service from the bank which creates a delay. The Woolwich now has until the 13th June to either put in a defence or pay up. The help desk person suggested I download the form N225 from the HMCS website and get it filled in in preparation. This would have to be sent in as a hard copy. Phew! Gonna get downloading now. Panic over. thanks.
  5. I have been using moneyclaimonline to put in a claim for £808.04 from Woolwich. The bank did not respond so I requested judgment on 31/05/07. I was surprised (and felt sick) to discover that my judgement was rejected yesterday although as far as I can see I filled out the form correctly. It also states that I cannot proceed further with moneyclaim online with that claim!!! What to do now? I feel like giving up but it cost me £80 to put that claim in not to mention the hundreds lost over the years. Is there anything I can do like try again at the county court or does it mean that the claim is finished??? Meaningful advise greatly appreciated at this point cos I'm feeling very deflated and going into 'why me' mode!
  6. Thanks for reply. Can I ask why you asked for a warrant of execution two days after the judgement? Is that the normal time span? Too late to withdraw judgment now so going for it. I better save £55 by Monday!!
  7. I have this morning asked for a judgement by default to be made against the Woolwich after they failed to make any defense against my claim for £808. The claim was issued by Moneyclaim Online and so is the judgement by default. I'm not sure I have researched this aspect enough and made the assumption that this was the correct course of action. After reading info on CAG website I see that this course of action can incur additional cost and that it is possible to try writing to the bank again using a template letter (which I have copied). I have until tomorrow at 10 a.m. to withdraw my intention to apply the jugment by default. It feels like it's getting out of control with talk of extra cost, warrants and court hearings and, quite frankly, I'm scared. Has anyone been down this route? It is reassuring to know what I'm letting myself in for!!!
