Help with preliminary approach for repayment letter

Hi I was wondering, do you send the initial letter of repayment to Head of Customer services? And how can you tell if you've got a black mark on the credit register? I'm only claiming for £315, but it's not exactly money I can ignore, and I want to get a mortgage soon, so it's kinda crucial. I'm pretty certain it won't be with Abbey....;-)
