  1. Guys! Good news, got a letter this morning stating "That although there is nothing I can add constructively to past correspondence I would like to resolve matters with you. Against the background and as a gesture of goodwill without admission of error or liability(!!), I am offering you £1,759 in full and final settlement of your complaint. However, our terms and conditions will continue to apply and any charges that accrue in the future must stand" (seem's they'll never learn!!). Anyhow, although this is not the full amount, it's a start. I will be sending them a letter agreeing to accept the amount as part settlement, but asking for the remainder. Just thought it would give you all a bit of a boost, seems they are finally starting to give in.... I'll keep you posted!
  2. Hi Thanks for that, the letter is quite intimidating, I will carry on regardless - fingers crossed....
  3. Hi I wonder if anyone can help? I've just received a letter this morning sateing that they feel the "charges are fair, reasonable and transparent, they consider that the amounts debited to my account have been applied strictly in accordance with my agreement with them and are satisfied they comply with applicable laws and regulations". They go on to say that they have "considered and responded to the Office of Fair Trading's findings in relations to credit card fees and are concerned that the OFT has publicy called into question the settign of charges applied to other products incl current accounts. The OFT has restricted its investigations to credit cards and made no attempt to consult with RBS or the industry in relation to other entirely different products" "Consequently, against background, we must differ with the views expressed in your letter and will not be refunding any of the charges to your account". What do I do? Is there any point in pursuing, or should I take it that they will not refund me? I would be grateful of any advice, this is pretty scary stuff!! Thanx
  4. oh okay!! Sorry for that, I'll try again... But thanks x
  5. Hi I have just recieved all my statements and I am hoping to claim for 2 accounts, a joint account which is an interest paying current account and a Royalties Premier account. However, I am a little confused by the statements. Each month we receive an "Advice of service charge for the period" and it shows two amounts 1) The charge based on a Maintenance Charge £xxx & 2) Plus a fee of £xxx Which or is the account charge or are they both? Thanks for any advice
  6. Hi I have just recieved all my statements and I am hoping to claim for 2 accounts, a joint account which is an interest paying current account and a Royalties Premier account. However, I am a little confused by the statements, I know we pay a fee of £15.00 per month for the Premier account which I understand we cannot claim back, but prior to having this account, it was a Royalties Gold and although I know we paid a monthly amount for the account, I cannot remember how much it was, can anyone help?
