  1. Forgot to update, they agreed to paying the rest and we received a cheque within 2 weeks so full amount paid.
  2. Well I sent my LBA and the 2 weeks is up on Monday 14th May but today I received a very brief letter saying the letter they sent me on the 18th of April was the banks full and final response. So it looks like I am going to have to start the court claim on Monday. As its my first one Im very scared but I am really angry now about the way they treat us customers. I have paid off the account a few months ago so Ive got nothing to loose.
  3. I would try and ring them. I had this with another card and rang them and gave my address and they asked for details then gave me the number. No harm trying.
  4. My rejection letter went off on the 13th April and I have just done the LBA to send today and I have received a 2 cheques in the post for their original offer. I know I said Id accept this as a partial offer but it hasn't come with a letter just 2 cheques. Do I carry on with the LBA now still insisting this is partial payment?
  5. Just had a major thought after reading more threads on MBNA. I sent off my subject access request with £10 cheque and they sent me 2 pieces of paper listing charges with cheque back. Now I didn't follow on for statements as I thought I would have enough but now Im nearing a stage of the court I see you need bank statements to prove the charges. Should i now get back in touch with MBNA for my Statements?
  6. I am currently trying to get my charges back from MBNA from 2 accounts. I sent the prelim letter and received a goodwill offer of £80 on 1 account and £110 on the other. The amount Im claiming from the 2 accounts is £455 so this falls well short. I sent a rejection letter saying I would accept this as a partial payment but was going after the rest on 13th April 2007. I was giving them 7 days to reply. I have not had any response to this and we are now 11 days later so am sending off my LBA tomorrow. Would you give them more time?
  7. Thanks Villafan, I had read your post, not that many on here for Mint. I feel like I am tooing and frowing with letters too. I will do as you say and merge the letters. Im feeling a bit better about the court too, not enough knowledge and a scary process for the first time but Ive got nothing to loose, only the court fees if they do defend and win.
  8. After reading this thread for a while I thought Id better post. Started my claim against Mint for £518 Sent prelim on 28/2/07, received letter back on 23/3/07 asking for a further 10 days. 27/03/07 received letter offering part payment of £214.12 13/04/07 I sent a letter back rejecting the part payment and again asking for my money back 18/4/07 another letter received offing me £214.12 as full and final settlement. They have said if I still remain dissatisfied I should contact Financial ombusman. Now as this is my first claim I am very nervous about going further. Do I contact the Financial Ombusman or do I carry on without doing that? Do I now send another rejection letter that is also a Letter Before Action, can't find a template for that. Or do I settle. I have read through hundreds of these threads and it still isn't easing my nerves. Can anyone point me in the right direction.
