  2. With all the postal strikes it is going to be crazy to get anyhting to HBOS for a little while. Is it possible to use email and if so can anyone tell me what email address to use? Thank you in advance!
  3. Just a quick question, i have had charges ( well will have 3 within the next 3 days) what do you think the implications would be if i claimed back charges on a current account with the Bank i work for? They will know as it is a staff account. Any ideas? Anyone think that is rocking the boat tooooo much?
  4. £350 refunded into my account AND all pending charges ERASED!!! and that was done on the 9th!!! WOOOHHOOO!!! I am thinking of chasing another bank (owe me just one charge and another 2 about to be applied) but i work for that bank lol and it is a staff account soooo i dont know if i am playing with fire on that one!! hmmmm!
  5. I tweaked it a little what do you think? Also should i add another time line, like i expect a reply within xx days? Ref: Your Offer of Settlement Dear Mr Colin Langdale Account: xxxxxxxxSort Code xx-xx-xx I acknowledge receipt of your letter date 27/11/2006 and your settlement offer of £320. Since my initial request a further £30 has been taken from my account in bank charges and I have been notified that £125 is due to be taken on 21/12/2006 , I will accept settlement if your offer is increased to £350 and the pending£125 in charges are removed. See schedule of charges attached .I accept this offer without prejudice and I reserve the right to make any firther claims should you apply future charges thatmay be considered unlawful under common law or in violation of the Unfair Terms in Consumer Contracts Regulations 1999or Unfair Contract Terms Act 1977. I trust that you will find this arrangement acceptable. Yours Sincerely
  6. Goodevening ! I sent a letter requesting £320 from HSBC and within less than a week received a letter offering me the full amount back! BUT since i sent out the letter i received a further £30 in charges (which i too would like to get back) and there is a further £125 to be applied on the 21/12/2006 (which i would obviously like to avoid) i have a reply letter and i would be so grateful if you could have a look over it to see if there are any changes you recommend i make etc Thank you very much in advance! 7. Thank you very much Bong, i have now sent this *fingers crossed*
  8. I am sendging my HSBCletter out today and i am nervous the address i have addressed it to may be wrong, would someone please clarify? I have addressed it to Mr Colin Langdale Senior Service Quality Officer Arlington Business Centre, Milshaw Park Lane, Leeds LS11 0PP Also i am in Scotland is it ok to send it to a address in England? Thank you in advance! ----------------------------------------- RBOS - 13/11/06 Preliminary approach for repayment SENT awaiting reply by 28/11/06 - claim £178 HSBC - NEXT! Waiting for November charges to be applied!
  9. I had only asked for £178 and was offered £150. I have 1 (maybe 2 ) charges pending so i think i am going to accept it on the grounds that those 2 charges are not applied. i have a £100 overdraft so that would be enough to pay that off and close that account. -------------------------------- RBOS - 13/11/06 Preliminary approach for repayment SENT awaiting reply by 28/11/06 - claim £178 HSBC - NEXT! 10. Thank you! An alarm bell went off in my head when i read that.
  11. Should i call and request the fee scrapped (which i did already before i received this letter and was told it needed to be discussed with a manager and i would get a call back - which i didn't) or should i put it in writing? If you recommend putting it in writing how should it be worded? Thank you so much! My overdraft limit is £100 so this will help me pay it off and close the account!
  12. Well that didn't take long! Sent my letter 12th Nov and received a reply today( 18 Nov) dated 16th Nov with the usual "We believe our charges are fair...... blah blah blah" but on the nex page it goes on to say " "Consequently, against that background, we must differ with the views expressed in your letter. Despite this, we have taken the oppertunity to review the charges that we hve applied to your account. As an exceptional matter we have agreed to refund £150 as a gesture of goodwill, due to receiving a £28 refund in June. Acceptance but you of this payment wiill be in full and final settlement of all claims you may have relating to our charges. However our Terms & Conditions will continue to apply and any charges that accrue in the future must stand." I think i am going to accept this offer on the condition that the £28 charge i will be receiving next week is scrapped (i received it for going 80p over my overdraft due to an interest charge by them!). Any thoughts?
  13. I was wondering if anyone else has a small claim? Mine is less than £400 from HSBC and £178 from RBOS - do they settle these quicker to get them out of the way (wishful thinking) or do they drag them out to the end thinking that no one will spend that much time and money for such a little? Also i received a statement telling me that yet another £100 will be deducted from my account on the 22nd in fees, should i send the letter out now including this £100 or should i wait till the 22nd untill this has been added to my acount before sending the req letter? Thank you in advance!

  15. Thank you! very much!! I have done my signature already in anticipation for tomorrow! It isnt much but it will allow me to pay of my£100 overdraft and close my account without digging into my own (empty lol) pockets! Thank you again!
  16. Man! I knew it was silly............. but i didn't know it was THAT silly - Thank you in the envelope it goes!
  17. Goodevening! As i said i think i have figured everything else out just one last question...... What do i put in where it says "SCHEDULE OF CLAIM FOR CHARGES" i told you it was simple! Just didn't want to make a mistake. Thank you i am sending my letter out tomorrow - wish me luck!
  18. Ok i am back and have filled in the spreadsheet but i have a few questions, Can you tell me do i automatically charge the interest? Also i am expecting more charges to be added to my account for next month should i wait to find out what these are first before i send the claim in or is there an amendment i can make to the original letter? I calculate that you have taken £229 (the amount charged) plus £XXX (is this where i put the interest?) which you have charged me in overdraft interest for the sum which you have taken. Total £XXXXX . The schedule of charges, is that the excel worksheet? I have also read about having a black mark against your name for future bank dealings (loan, mortgage etc) does anyone know if this is the case? Thank you in advance for any help!
  19. I have had the same thing, the £12 being for the Royalties Gold Acc then a £28 overdraft charge!

  21. And so the journey begins! I don't have much to claim back maybe around £250 from HSBc and the same from RBS but that amount could stop me from snowballing charge after charge each month( you know the type when there is nothing left in your bank account and they charge you a charge and that makes you go over your limit so you are charged a charge on top of that?) i have a couple of questions firstly i have read about a spreadsheet on here can you tell me how i can get ahold of that and secondly i know i am going to get a bunch of charges this month (tightest of all tight months!) should i wait till i get these before i claim so i can add these on? Thank you in advance and thatnk you for a great and helpful forum - it makesa my blood boil when i see what these banks are (were) able to get away with!
