  1. When i first started claiming my charges back i closed both my accounts and sent everything back to them. This was 6 months ago. In january 2007 i received a bank statement with transactions on it. The halifax claim that it was a settlement on my MCOL and they had credited my account (already closed) and then took money from it to pay bills that i had with them. I had no way accepted any offers in fact i have a court date to amend the amount i am claiming. I am giving them just this next week to sort it and then i am going to involve the ombudsman. UNLESS anybody has any better ideas? They did send me a cheque with the difference, but that is going back with a rejection letter and reaffirming my original argument:-x
  2. How do you get it do you have to add it onto your MCOL? because i only claimed for the difference between the 2 figures. methinks i have missed something, but they never acknowledged my letter accepting it has part payment nor did they say that they would withdraw that offer. i have gone this far its my money and i want it:confused:
  3. The halifax have offered me a settlement figure which i intend to accept but, how do i get the amount that they offered oringinally as a goodwill gesture, and i accepted as part payment. The letter still manages to say that if i dont manage my account better i will incur more charges. which is bullxxxx as i no longer bank with them, and have not for at least 6 months. can anybody advise? please
  4. I have changed banks and i was just wondering how the halifax would pay me my charges back? I have had the standard letter offering me half of my charges as a goodwill gesture (bull*** ) I wrote back accepting part payment but i would continue on with my claim which i have done. I have not heard anything more from the halifax, should i have?
  5. Hi Mo I am in same boat as you, it is scary but a good scary. I filed my moneyclaim online at about 4.30 this morning when igot up for work, it felt as if a great weight had been lifted off my shoulders. I even enjoyed work:) I AM NOT GOING TO LET THIS BEAT ME NO WAY NO HOW! GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR CLAIM.
  6. Is there any way of getting help with court fees?
  7. thanks alot just downloaded letter and i am now going to type it out to send, I intend to send it back in their envelope. Would you reccommend recorded delivery? THANKS AGAIN This site is the most informative and the most supportive i have ever seen. It deserves the donations for just being there.
  8. I sent my LBA about a week ago today i have received a letter offering me £2335 which is just less than half of what is owed to me, can someone please advise what to do because i am in shock. It is great reading about other people and their problems and support, but i think i have been going through the motions on automatic pilot. As if it would not happen for me.
  9. I sent my prelim letter a couple of weeks ago and apart from a postcard saying can they ring me, all i have received from them is a seemingly standard letter about how i can complain about the halifax. However it does say in the last paragraph that all the media hype about bank charges is not about actual bank ACCOUNT charges, but is about credit card charges. It seems that bullxxx is the order of the day. I sent my LBA today.8)
  10. I sent letter requesting my money back a couple of weeks ago and i intended to write the LBA today, but i have got a card from halifax saying they wish to call our home on 14th october. Is this a new ploy or just a delaying tactic, anyone know? I still intend writing the LBA.
  11. Please can anyone explain how to put schedule of charges in my preliminary letter?
