  1. MrFitz....was the letter sent to you by FD after your LBA one which stated a lot of contractual blurb....quoting Account Terms and Conditions (Part 2: Operating Your Account, Clause 6.9) which states blahdey blah. Also advice to contact the Ombudsman...? Their reply seems a bit final and they categorically state that FD disagree with our contention that charges are unlawful. Seems like a bit of a bog standard letter, but I just wanted to make sure we are all batting off a hymn sheet up a flag pole before I commence the post 14 day tirade. Regards Grab

  3. Greetings I have just started a claim from First Direct for £3592.50 over 6 years - from a sole account which has since been closed following the withdrawal of all banking facilities. I am also party to a joint account with my other half. This a/c is some £3500 overdrawn following a dispute over a stolen cheque having been paid in (we were vicitms of fraud) - and the subsequent advice given by them allowing us to withdraw on the cheque. We maintain we are not at fault and are now in debt. As they closed my sole a/c - we are refusing to pay anything further into the joint and letting them do what they have to (initially).... In the event that I am successful in my sole account claim - can FD insist on paying any refund into the joint to negate the o/d - or, as they are separate accounts - and the other being joint can I insist on any refund being sent in the form of cheque / bank draft directly to me....? Any refund will go into an a/c with a different bank. What you might call being armed with info for the necessary retaliation. Grab
  4. Fond greetings I have read with interest all the action taken against HSBC. My prelim letter is about to go recorded to First Direct. (£3592.50 over 6 years). Will references within these forums (or is it fora?) to HSBC also refer to First Direct (as they are the parent company)? Grab
