  1. can i ask where this templaqte letter is about the payment being made by cheque please
  2. Hello All, I am a new member to the action group. I have been reading most of your comments about claiming back unfair bank charges. The first step according to the comments of the action group is to establish the amount of charges. The way to do this is to send £10, highlight the Data Protection rules and the 40 days they have to complete my request. However, my claim is against credit cards, namely Barclay card and Mint. I rang both of them yesterday (5/9/06) to enquire if they need the £10 and who to make the cheque payable and so on. The first call to Barclay card I was told the charge was £3 per month. I informed them of the maximum of £10 and 40 days and the was passed to 5 different people in 3 different departments. None of the people I spoke to new of the £10 rule. I tried my luck with Mint but came across the same thing, they told me it was £3 per month not £10. I told her that meant I had to give her another £216 to get the information I needed she told me, "the proper way to do this was to write in and complain about the £3 per month and they would see what they could do". Can anybody explain if they are correct and the £10 rule does not apply to Credit cards, and if so what do I do now.
