I am receiving letters from Natwest, Wescot Credit Services, and Nelson Guest Soliticitors claiming I owe £350 in late fees for a business account which was closed down several years ago. I have attempted to call Natwest numerous times, but the phone is never answered at the number they list 01952 206114. I have sent letters to them explaining that the account was shut down, that we never set up an overdraft on the account, and asking for an explanaition of the charges, but Natwest never responds, they just hand the account to a different collection agency. Even if the account wasn't shut down properly, does the bank have the right to keep charging monthly fees until the account is run down to £0, then start charging penalty fees once they've driven the account into debt? How can I proceed with them?
