I sent the DPA SAR request approx 23rd February. Got a standard response that they would get back to me. 40 days passed, no further response. Sent reminder on 27 April giving a further 2 weeks. Guess what? No response. What should I do next?

After considering claiming my bank charges back for a couple of months I have decided to take the plunge and go for it. That's me prepared my SAR and will be posting it off tonight! Reading through the FAQ's helped install confidence in what I am doing, as I previously worried about costs of going to court and if they closed my account and insisted I paid back my overdraft. Next step tomorrow to set up a parachute account just in case, but it is time to go to town and get my charges back! I look forward with great interest in calculating how much the bank has charged me. They took the decision to no longer contact me when going over my overdraft, which made dealing with finances each month difficult. It put me in a position that I was scared to look at my account. I have an overdraft of £2000 and put this amount down largely to the fact when I was going over my overdraft, they increased my overdraft to cover the charges. Time for some recompense I think!

All, I read this website with great interest and look forward to following the process to recover bank charges levied against me. I have prepared the first letter to be sent to RBoS and will be posting this off today. I went through a bad spell of incurring bank charges on a monthly basis and found managing finances extremely difficult to manage; simply due to the fact that excessive charges were being levied against my account. The RBoS then took the decision to stop writing to me when charges were being applied, as they were sick of contacting me?!?! Is this normal practice? I have an overdraft of £2000 and got to this level due to the bank increasing it everytime I was going over my limit and to cover the bank charges incurred. I would be extremely please if I can recover the charges levied and pay off this overdraft. Fingers crossed... I woudl also be keen to hear of experiences of fellow RBoS customers.
