I have just contacted Halifax customer relations department via phone to request the reimbursment of 3 charges. I argued with them and they agreed to refund 1 of the charges. I accepted this and said that I would write in for the other 2 as the charges were unlawfull and I would complain because they were not abiding by the OFT rules. I was told that these only applied to credit cards and not bank accounts. It was either accept the 1 or write in and complain about all 3. I thought I would take the money and said that if the rules changed then I would re-apply for the others. I will give it a while and then go for the others. Have I done the right thing? How long should I leave it to settle down before going after the other 2?
