  1. Just found out YB entered a default against me & hubby the day they settled. It's for what appears to be a "plucked out of thin air" amount (£300 & something) & is completely unfair & inaccurate so I'm saddling up the war donkey again.

Customer relations are currently investigating for me & I've given them til next week to get the thing off or it's back to court.

Moral of the story.... Don't trust them, don't give them an inch, second guess them, double check everything & always assume they'll do irrational things.

  2. Hi All,

I checked our credit file again today & Yorkshire Bank placed a default on there for £312 for me & hubby the day the offered (& we accepted) full settlement of our bank charges. I am fuming!

We closed the account, it had a £600 O/D. All along I said to them I was not refusing to pay any monies I owed but as the said monies were in dispute (quote county court claim number) I wouldn't be settling until the case was concluded. I also added that should we be proved to owe them money it would be settled immediately (& it was from the settlement). In every letter to them I said exactly the same thing & also stated as per the banking code, I didn't expect them to take any action to recover funds that were in dispute.

Anyone else had a dirty trick like this?

    Thanks,

    TC

  3. Well, here I am panting & pushing but it's not cos baby's coming..... just had a letter saying they're putting the full amount into my bank account! In fact, my claim is for £731 (including interest & court costs) & they're giving me £831 saying £100 is for court costs. If they can't be bothered to read the paperwork properly I sure as heck aren't telling them lol.

Thanks for your help guys :D

  4. Hi All,

Not strictly parking but wondered if anyone knows the answer to my question.

I was flashed by a camera back in March. Hands up, I did it, 35 in a 30. Things is I'm still waiting for brown evelope through the letterbox. Do you think it'd arrived by now if I was gonna get one? Wondering if I've been lucky & the film had run out or something.

    Thanks,

    TC

  5. Nothing unusual about it as far as I can see Zoot. It seems a bit wierd to me as the claim has been done in tandem with my hubby's claim, exactly the same letters, interest formular etc which just came back with a hearing date, no case management conference for him (& his is double the amount of mine).

The conference hasn't been held today (due to illness).

    Thanks,

    TC

  6. Sorry folks, I didn't mean to open up such a can of worms.

My £10 per hour typing strategy has worked, I've got rid of all the firend's cousins, dog groomers, nephews (& similar) who wanted me to do their claims. Funny how folk suddenly realise they CAN do it themselves :)

Husband & ongoing claimants in no uncertain terms now that help is only there on Wednesday evenings & if I don't feel like it then it'll have to wait until the following Wednesday. I have my life back :D

  7. I have an answer. I'm going to tell all new people to sod off & charge all ongoing cases £10 an hour for typing.... nothing else, just typing & I'm having a quick contract prepared saying that. That way if they wanna sit in my study gosspiing & taking up my entire evening fine, it's all going towards the hourly rate for the typing I am doing for them which will recoup my expenses & hopefully put folk off trotting round here every evening & sitting drinking my tea til 10pm.

    Thanks everyone :)

  8. Hi Everyone,

Sorry I don't seem to be around much lately (reasons for it posted on "General" board). Hope everyone's ok & just to say I've had a lot more run in's with YB collections over the past few weeks (re friend's claims) & now consider myself a bit of a pro. So if anyone's having any bother with YB/Clydesdale collections PM me so I can take a look at your thread and post there as nothing will give me more pleasure than helping get rid of these *******s.

  9. Thanks Pete, that's reassured me I'm not being a profiteering, band wagon jumping parasite lol.

I've just read my 1st post back & it sounds well stroppy. Don't get me wrong, I thoroughly enjoy helping people get back what's rightly theirs but I'm just really peeved (& hormonal) about being taken for granted & it enchroaching into my personal time so much.

  10. I’ve been very hit & miss on this site lately. 1, because I’m pregnant & have had morning sickness from hell & 2 because every single minute of my spare time seems to be taken up with the barrage of claims I’m doing for other people.

I started out offering to help a good friend of mine with her claim & being persuaded by hubby to help a friend of his with theirs. That turned into 5 claims altogether & now I seem to be either doing or being asked to do claims for relatives or friends of friends I don’t even know.

We go on holiday next week & I’ve had to skive off work this week (unpaid) to literally get everything in order with all the paperwork before we go away. My phone never seems to stop ringing & every night we have someone or other round wanting this or that letter or N1’s filling in etc etc. I started out just offering advice but now they all just seem to take it for granted I’ll do everything but sign the letters & spend the money. I do say to them “this is how you do it, this is the web address” etc but I get all the whining & moaning about how they can’t possibly do it themselves for whatever reason (& to be honest some of them are pretty daft & really wouldn't be able to do it themselves).

Frankly I’m sick to death of it & it’s costing me a fortune in time as well as money for consumables, phone calls etc. It also seems never ending as everyone who calls tells me they know someone else who wants to claim & no way would they be able to do it themselves so they’ve given them my number (gee thanks!).

Last night was the final straw. Today I’ve got to drag my 2 little kids about while I go for an antenatal & scan at the hospital & then I’m at the accountants re hubby’s business. On top of all that there’s the usual house work (not a small amount when you’ve got 2 toddlers), cooking, errands & all the while feeling like crap due to being pregnant. Despite that my hubby informed me that his pal had phoned up & he is coming through for his LBA doing & bringing his cousins bank statements with him & they must be done as it’s the only chance he has to get through to ours before we go on holiday. There goes my evening! I was raging & I am planning to be at my friends house with my feet up when he calls round)!

So in a nutshell I’m considering charging a fee or a percentage for doing these claims as I have to somehow re-coup my expenses & make people think before jumping on the trundlecat funded gravy train. If they don’t agree with this then they can all s*d off & do their own claims. I have yet to be offered a penny by anyone in view of my expenses & I’m sick of being taken for granted. I spoke to a good friend of mine from this site last night & they agree I’m not profiteering or being mean by asking for a fee but I just wanted to get other people’s take on this? What do you think?

  11. Beg's the question: what are they doing with the rent money if they can't afford these repairs? They have no initial investment to repay so what the heck are they spending it on?

As for the letter mix up, I'm speachless (& that doesn't happen very often).

You really have got your work cut out with that shower Rich, sorry I can't offer any constructive help but I hope someone can & I hope you fleece them!
