  1. just faxed them a letter today. "i do not acknowledge any debt to your company. i refer you to the letter you received from the above address on the xx of xxxxxxx 2006" yours etc." will be interesting what they come back with. thanks for everyones input. it honestly has been a great help. when all this is sorted out, i'll remember where the hlp came from, and reciprocate financially. matty_yorks
  2. androobe im just wanting to make progress on this. i was sure id paid all the money years ago. i WILL get the money from MBNA, and I WILL get wescot put in their place. i was just unsure of the next move.
  3. anyone any ideas with this? They are asking for a reply wihin 7 days of the 27th, so i was going to fax them AM uk time today. is a fax the same as a letter? sorry of this is strictly a bump. matty_yorks the almost panicking amateur.
  4. the reason im still dealing with the DCA is because they have bought the debt from MBNA (not my assumption - their assertion). im AM dealing with MBNA, and (I think) my father has pput in a SAR with them, yes, they owe me a stackload, but until i have won my case with MBNA the DCA will still keep coming. Or will me going to MBNA telling them to call the dogs off actually work? Esp if I accuse MBNA over the phone of taking money unlawfully?
  5. would be lovely to ignore it, but im only here temporarily. i want to get it sorted, because whether its my debt or not, my parents they havent said why they want to know the last three addresses. wasnt in response to the last three addresses as far as i know. dont/wont like the hassle (he's a yorkshireman too androobe ) do I send a fax asking why they want my last three addresses? is it reasonable for them to request the info? i know i've currently got them on the back foot, and when I win this i know i'll be a happy bunny, but i'd still appreciate clarification. the sooner I can send the fax and get these monkeys off my back the better. matty_yorks
  6. had a letter back from wescot,. they are wanting to know my last three addresses, and the info within 7 days. are they just doing this to play for time? my request for the CCA was sent on the 16th of nov, and their latest offering was sent to me on the 27th. I can only really fax them from where i am (on a long holiday abroad). do i fax them telling them to bugger off and to stop wasting time, or do i give them what they ask for? help as always would be appreciated. matty_yorks
  7. hi. i could do with peoples advice on this one...... I got a letter at my UK address a few days ago from Wescot DCA telling me i owed them 320 odd quid from my old MBNA credit card account i had 4 years ago before i moved down south..... Im SURE i paid it off, Im also SURE that MBNA owe me money from charges levied unlawfully. i havent taken MBNA to task on this yet, though a Data Protection Act request has been sent. Im thinking I may have been unlawfully defaulted by MBNA. am i right? the DCA now has the debt, so what do people think my next course of action should be? I want to get the DCA off my back, and quickly, becuase my parents have to deal with the letters whilst Im out here in australia, and also as my grandma is near the end of her life. in my understanding, MBNA owe me more than the debt is worth. in the last 4 years they havent got in contact with me, that i recall. in short, are there any templates for letters to send to MBNA and the DCA? everyones help is very much appreciated. matt.
  8. Bit of a development....... 9. sorry to hijack the thread, but since phone calls seem to work with mbna - im trying to find out about my charges but im no longer a customer. could i call and ask for my old account number? and maybe get an offer there an then over the phone? of course that would be too good to be true. Well done evryone. sticking it to the credit card people. i just LOVE IT!
  10. Hi, i've looked through the FAQ (as thoroughly as i could, its a bit of a maze). i couldnt find the answer i was looking for. Here's my dilemma. I do not have my MBNA account number anymore, and I have lived at 4 other addresses whilst being a victim/customer of MBNA. Do i have to change the wording of my data protection act request? or just send it minus the account number and with my old addresses? It doesnt help that I'm trying to do this from australia, whilst on a one year holiday. still, will help the bar bill already calculated natwest owe me 1300 quid. that should be fun..... your help is gratefully received people.
