  1. I have filled in a complaints for with the Financial Ombudsman and will give it 5 working days for any response from them. The form had a bit to tick if you have any current or pending court action, so I ticked that. Haven't heard any more from my MP, they sent a letter to him saying they would get the chap from Lloyds to reply to him when he returned from hols or whatever - anyway just sounded like another stalling tactic to me.
  2. Will do as suggested - I have also sent a complaint form to the Financial Ombudsman
  3. I got to the stage of letter before action on this website, and due to financial constraints due to more bank charges, I did not continue with the court proceedings. I have a question to ask please - I want to continue with the court action, now finances allow, but do I start at the beginning or send the letter before action again. I have continued discussions with the bank during this time - and with my MP and Financial Ombudsman and have recently received a letter from LLoyds to say they will not continue any further discussion or correspondence regarding my charges. Any advice please
  4. Thanks for that - will keep going:)
  5. I have sent the preliminary letter and had replies. I have sent the letter before action, but so far not heard anything from the bank. Do I leave the customary 14 days (nearly that long anyway).:-| Do I then go on to the N1 form for the court? I presume I can use the form in the library with the necessary personal information. Am I able to send the list of charges that I have been sending to the bank all along. Have I missed anything relevant out? Know that these are probably daft questions - but I want to give myself plenty of time and get it right. Thanks
  6. I sent the first stage letter and received a reply saying they would get in touch. I sent the second stage letter to the bank last week and the next day received a more complete answer to my first enquiry. It basically said that sorry, but because you can always check you account and because the bank don't agree with the oft, they will not refund my charges. 2 questions 1) will I continue on as normal, or if they say they won't refund the charges are they getting sick of the charges being challenged and will get too stroppy:-? 2) is this just the normal stance and they are hoping I give in. It was a most assertive letter from the bank.:-? Help please Ann65
  7. Thanks for the help - have sorted things out. Must be behind the times - never thought about going on line. Can anyone give me an answer to a question that seems to be cropping up more and more frequently now. When I put a cheque in the bank, it takes five days to clear (sure it only used to take three, but they are insistant it never did!) But I have sent cheques to people and they have cleared within 2 days (and their bank is not the same as mine) and have had debit transactions with the same shop, which sometimes have taken overnight and sometimes have taken 4 days. Gets very confusing:x
  8. I have the problem that when it comes to opening a new bank account with a new bank. They are asking for i.d. and also to see bank statements. When they see bank charges they do not want to know. One bank said they wouldn't give me a savings account even. I don't have mortgages, loads of saving etc etc and honestly don't know what I can do. :?
  9. Have sent my first letter and list of bank charges to be refunded. Received a letter from bank saying sorry you're not happy and we will look into the matter, it will take time but we hope to have sorted something out in 2 weeks, etc. etc. etc. Have been told this is your bog-standard answer and that, probably, not a lot will happen (but you never know:oops: ). Have another week, so if anyone sees any flying pigs let me know please:D
  10. Have received a letter from bank. Basically it's thanks for your letter and sorry your not happy. We will investigate, but needs time. We should get back to you within next 2 weeks and "respond in full" and resolve matters. Have also sent leaflet "Voice your concerns". Is this a bog-standard letter? Will obviously keep all correspondence from them.
  11. Did my letter and a chart plotting charges and interest. Will post it tomorrow, THUNDERBIRDS ARE GO!!!
  12. Thanks for your advice - I read the questions last night and jotted some bits down. Worked out formally what charges I have plus interest (said on LLoyds TSB link that people weren't adding interest and I had wondered about that). Next step to sort out the first letter for the bank. Thanks
  13. I have been plucking up courage to do start re-claiming my bank charges, I've been charges £1,000 in about 25 months - which, for me, is a lot of money. I just need to start - the sooner you start, the sooner you finish!!! Wish me luck!!
