Just thought I'd share the great news I received today. Received a letter for each claim. The first offer of 450.00 (claim was 522.50) and a second offer of 1040.00 (claim was 1182.00). Have decided to settle as I'm very happy with the amounts and the cash will come in really handy. Just wanted to say to all those who are new to the site and considering claiming their money back, "do it!!! you have nothing to lose!!!! with 3 letters and a matter of weeks you could claim back what is rightfully yours.

I've sent prelim and LBA to Coventry DSC but still haven't heard anything from either yet. Don't know if this is any help to you!
-
Anyone there?!?!
-
Also, forgot to ask..... Is it difficult to fill in the MCOL? How much does it cost? Do you think it's because I'm claiming against 2 accounts that they're ignoring me? Why is it some people get offers at prelim stage and not others? Sorry, 101 questions:?
-
There are 2 accounts I'm claiming against. My single account is 1200quid & the joint is just over 500quid. I didn't hear anything when I sent the Prelim, is this normal for HSBC?
-
Just posted LBA. Does anyone know what the likelihood is of HSBC settling quickly or are they going to drag it out until I issue a court claim? SHOW ME THE MONEY!!!!!
-
9th September today - LBA response expected by 14th September - no news yet..... What is usual for HSBC' response to LBA's, will I get ignored? Will they make an offer? Will I get fobbed off? I have fingers crossed everytime postie arrives, but still nothing......

I did that! Had no account details so went into local branch & asked for closed account number. You could be honest & tell them what you want it for but I just said I still had some financial issues with this person & needed the account no to quote in correspondance!!!!! -
Hi Katy, This site is fab isn't it? Just thought I'd wish you luck with your claim & tell you that HSBC sent all my statements in a oner but there were so many the postman couldn't fit them through the door! Also, HSBC sent back the cheques I sent with the statement request letter so didn't have to pay for them all either! Good ;uck & let us know how you get on Sam

Well, the LBA has gone by recorded delivery. Should have a response by Sept14th. Let you know how it goes........

I'm doing exactly the same as you! HSBC owe me 512quid from a closed account with an ex-partner. Apparently as long as the other person hasn't done it first you should be fine. Good Luck, Sam -
Thanks Angela. Getting very excited now. Have completed prelim letters and schedules for two accounts and they owe me 1600quid, 2000 if it goes to claims. Will definitely help buying house (not getting mortgage from HSBC lol!!!)

Thanks a lot Michael, that's what I've done. Glad you've confirmed I've done it right:) Many Thanks Sam

Hi Just calculating how much HSBC owe me, looking about 1500pounds . When I send the schedule with prelim letter do I show the interest on it even though I'm not gonna claim it (yet!)
-
Hi, Done calculation schedule to send off with first letter to HSBc. I have deleted off the column with the interest on as i read that you shouldn't show the interest unless it is going to court. Am I right deleting it or should I leave it on the schedule but not add the interest into the total I show on the letter? Sorry if I am confusing!

Hi, Received statements today from HSBC & have downloaded template to calculate charges but am getting really confused. On the template the charges have heading ie "returned cheque" or "returned dd", most of my charges show up on the statement as "DR TOTAL CHARGES 27.50" (FOR GOING OVER OVERDRAFT LIMIT). Is there any specific way i should be laying my sheet out? V grateful for all help

Hi, Got statements today from HSBC, have downloaded calculation template but not really sure what I'm doing. On the template there are 'headings' for charges ie returned cheque, or refused dd. The majority of my charges (i believe) are for going over overdraft limit. All it says on my statement is eg: DR TOTAL CHARGES 27.50. What heading should I use on my template? V Grateful for all help

Thanks v much. No doubt I'll be on again soon to ask more questions!

Just completed my first letter to HSBC requesting bank statement but I'm unsure where to send it. Local branch? Head Office? Account branch? Can anyone help please? Sam:-x

Hi I've just prepared my first letter to HSBC requesting my statements but I am unsure where to send it. Does it go to my registered branch? my most local branch? head office? Please help - confused & haven't even started yet!

Hi new to site....finding it all very confusing. Wish to claim back charges from HSBC but don't know where to start. Is there a template I can follow on this site (ie what to do, when to do it, what order?) Also, wondering if I can charge claims back from a joint account which I closed 4 years ago? Am no longer with the other person. Would this be an issue? All help gratefully received. Many thanks Sam
