  1. Morning everyone. Have not been able to post because broadband has been buggered for two weeks, but basically, I sent my LBA after the 14 days and last week (a couple of days over the 14 days specified in the LBA) I had a nice £160 put back into my account!! So go for it guys! Will be making a donation and filling out questionnaire. I will now turn attention to Lloyds. Cheers, P_K
  2. Morning everyone, Got letter through from that busy lad Lee Saunders - the usual I'm sorry you've felt the need to make a complaint letter. Will keep you posted....
  3. Packet through from Mike Smith today with all my statements dating back to 2002. Well inside the 40 day limit. Totted up the charges and it came to a nice £160 - pretty much all stemming from that one time I went over the limit last summer. Grrr. Just preparing my preliminary approach for repayment, thanks to the template letter in the library. Will update when I hear back from them. Barclays and Lloyds TSB are also rolling along behind at staggered intervals and am now looking at old student loan charges (only 40 quid, but better back in my pocket than theirs, right?!) - will create separate threads for those when the exciting stuff happens! Cheers for all the support and help, Peachy_keen
  4. Letter from Mike Smith arrived yesterday, dated 14 June, acknowledging receipt of request. Confirming that arrangements will be made to provide the info in 40 days from date of his letter. Will keep an eye on how close to 40 days it is from the date (and assumed receipt) of my letter to see if I need to send a gentle reminder about when the 40 days starts. EDIT: PS they cashed the cheque.
  5. Welcome to the forum. Been stung in exactly the same way as you. If you send your letter off in the next few days we should be working to a similar timescale. I sent a cheque, following advice from this forum. Look forwards to hearing your reports back. Best wishes, P_K
  6. Hi everyone. I have been lurking around for a while and trying to take as much in as possible about actions to take, and have finally taken the plunge (also with Barclays and Lloyds TSB). Would recommend to all those that have just found the site to spend a few days reading all posts/FAQs etc. I feel alot more comfortable about what I am doing now. I sent my request for past statements to Smile yesterday. I got caught out with their charges for going a couple of pounds over my overdraft limit last year (charges applied the next month which then sent me over the limit again etc), so *think* they have around £200 of my money. I have been with Smile for a few years, and have around 2 years worth of statements which are no longer stored on line, so have chosen to ask for all statements since the account was opened. Will keep thread updated with progress to help everyone else. Thank you to the BAG and all posters/mods for this great site. peachy_keen
