  1. All those in Worcester Court (who are hopefully watching this thread). Given the general unhappiness at the manner in which people have been dealt with by the Court I am proposing to draft a letter to the court. I will post it to a new thread (possibly later tonight although it is more likely to be tomorrow). If you would be interested in signing up to such a letter please let me know by PM'ing me. I'm happy for it to be publicly moderated (so hopefully all bright ideas get included). As an aside, the person I was helping has decided to accept the banks original settlement figure. To be honest I'm gutted. I was looking forward to the fight, as it were, on his behalf. He's not sent his letter off yet (and a covering letter I've drafted) so fingers crossed I can persuade him otherwise. The lure of a computer and flat screen tele are proving a bit much for him at the minute though.
  2. A friend whom I am helping with his charges has received notice from Worcester County Court today. The court is staying his case awaiting the outcome of the test case (no definition - poor form) [Edit: this is the court staying case with no application from either party]. We'd had notice from the bank they were going to apply for a stay. We checked with the court Friday and Monday and were assured the case wasn't being stayed, the court had received nothing from the bank and they would only be able to apply (due to the short timescale) at the hearing. The notice is dated Monday. Needless to he's miffed - he'd had a hearing due tomorrow, and we'd both booked time off for it (he's not the most eloquent and clear when putting his point across). If anyone else has had the same notice would be good to know - it was District Judge Parry (just wondering in case he'd reviewed a bulk of cases) We're going to appeal and will keep you posted. We'll also include the proposal for directions to see if it helps. I presume this is the same for the rest of Worcester. Sad news but the fight's on. Mal
