  1. Update time.....well I delivered my letter by hand and this time it took a little bit more persuasion on my part to get a receipt, but I got one in the end I delivered it on the 22nd which is one day later than I had planned but I just didnt get the chance to get into town, lucky halifax....well still no reply as yet maybe tomorrows post will yield a result....only six days after I had delivered it but who knows.....more updates as and when things happen
  2. Letter printed and in the envelope, I will hand it into my branch as I did with my prelim letter so I can get a reciept.....this bit is a little more nerve racking as the content of the LBA is quite rigid in its intention, biu I know we are all doing the right thing, fingers crossed for you all. I will update you in the next few days I suppose, bye all
  3. Hello again, how did the holiday go I hope you all had a great time!! My LBA is already to send first thing Monday morning, I wish you the best of luck, but after reading as many threads as I could over the past week or two niether of us need any kuck as it seems a sure thing!! I think what we all need is a case to actually go to court, and let the flood gates open, imagine the public response!!! Good luck to you all, and take care!!
  4. Hi Libby, I have just read through your thread, and what you have been through and what you have achieved for you and your mum is wonderful and has inspired me, thankyou so much for your help, even though you never knew!!......well done. Danny.
  5. I recieved a reply this morning to my prelim, and suprise suprise they sent me a leaflet on personal customer complaints titled heres what well do. The letter was from Joanne Carmichael, a customer relations officer, I had originally sent my prelim to Dawn Pugh. The letter thanked me for my letter and stated that they were sorry that Im unhappy about the chatges applied to my account and that they are keen to deal with my concerns as quickly as possible and that a customer relations mananger will investigate the points that I have raised and I will receive a reply shortly, but certainly no later than 4 weeks (no chance they have until the 21st then my LBA goes out, not forgetting my schedule of charges). they have also given me a reference number to help them with their enqueries..... how thoughtful!!!! Well lets see what happens next you would have thought that they would have clicked on by now and started to deal with these claims a lot quicker!
  6. Advice is there to be taken or ignored, if you ask me take it every time, and if it doesnt work try something else at least you can turn round and say that you did try! The cccs (consumer credit councilling service) are great apparently they are a charity and their help is free, their number is on Martin Lewis' site check it out guys, my sister says they have worked wonders for her, and I have also advised her to check out this site, my next step is the cccs. I will volunteer to go to court and fight them face to face if need be..........I hate injustice, this is going to be my own personal crusade against the bankers, if (when) I win a donation to the forum is on it's way!!!!
  7. Apparently the halifax (and this is only what I have read on the forum) is the pussycat of the banking world, you watch now Im really going to get screwed over by the halifax, from what I have read the is a major problem with all of the banks........what we really need (and this is only my opinion and does count for anything) is an actual court case so that the flood gates can be well and truly blown open and expose these bankers to a whirlwind of complaints and legal action!!! Just my opinion you understand!!!
  8. Welcome, Im in the same boat too I have just sent my prelim letter today, and once I have sorted out the bank I will be onto them Re my CC, good luck with your claim and keep us all posted this is a fantastic site and the guys here all want to help, keep it up and dont get to dispondant, you will win in the end!!!
  9. I have already prepared my case for court, Im now researching any TV footage that I can put onto dvd so I can submit it in court, after sending a copy to the halifax of course!!!!........I would love it to go to court!!
  10. What really suprises me about all this is I cant understand why after all the claims against all these banks they still insist on going right to the point of taking them to small claims court, why when they first get the prelim letter just say oh well heres another one lets give them the cash, they know they are going to loose in the end, stubborn as we are I suppose....lol
  11. So its going to be a bit of a nail-biting time for you then, at least I can check the mail box, do you get back home before the fourteen days are up?, if not then I may have a day or two's head start on you for my LBA.....lol
  12. Youre on, and good luck, I thought I would be really nervous, but it was great, I felt really positive and confident, hope the rest of this little adventure goes as well!!!!!!

  14. My prelim letter was delivered by hand to my local branch this afternoon at 12.35 and was recieved by a very friendly member of customer services called Natasha C Fathers, I asked for a reciept and for her to forward it for me to Dawn Pugh who is the senior customer relations manager in leeds, after a five minute visit to her Manager she said that it wasnt a problem and she would send it first class today, she then proceeded to type out a reciept, I thanked her for her help and she said that it was a pleasure, I just hope that when they find out the contents of the letter they will be just has helpful. So lets see what happens within next 14 days, I have my LBA and another schedule of charges waiting for them to be sent on the 21st as Im sure they won't respond positively to my prelim letter. Prelim letter sent 07/08/06 claim for £600.73 inc interest.
