  1. Hi, I have received a letter form the court, telling me that the claim has been received and they have given the N/wide about a month to respond. Question- They have deemed the amount to be claimed as unliquidated --is this normal? i thought it would have been liquidated as the amount of the claim is fixed. So i have now to wait on nationwide response. d
  2. Hi emma, I just used my branch address, as thats where i was sending the previous letters....and they seemed to get where they should go ok. The one on royal ave. Just not too sure how long things will take now....but i will post any progress! Damo anyone know of someone in NI that has done this before and won?

  4. Hi thanks for that post and info! Am just back from a few weeks hols, refresehed and ready to post off my £62 court fee and of course my application. the total with interest has turned into a whooping £2249.15....so i have my fingers crossed as my car blew up before my hol and i need another old banger to get me to work! 6. Thanks for the advice folks, Yes i see what you mean about the cheques being easily traced, but i dont actually have acheque book so had to do it that way. But each postal order has tracability now....so you can phone up with you postal order number (on the reciept you get with it) and they can tell you if it has been cashed. The only account info they gave me over the phone was my account numbers, balances and date when the accounts where opened
  7. Thanks Dolly, I think I am right with this....I can not do a money claim as I live in Belfast, therefore I think I have to bring this through the small claims in Northern Ireland. I can't wait to win this! Then its GE capitals turn! the Boke Beast!

  10. Hi folks, Right I have just sent off my letter and postal order for £10 to GE capital requesting my statements and charges info. I had to phone GE capital to get my old account numbers as I no longer had them as I had stopped using the DEVILS DEBT a few years ago! But the charges followed me for a long time! The guy in Customer Services kept telling me that I did not have any accounts with GE....but after much effort I told him to do an address search under my name and date of birth. So he eventually found them and gave me the opening and closing dates of the accounts....some where still open, in fact one had a 74 p credit on it which i asked him to send me a cheque to that value....he said are you serious, its only 74p and I reminded him that if i owed GE 74p and did not pay they would charge me about £20! Its my money so give it back...he said the cheque is on its way! I sent one £10 postal order for all 4 accounts as it is the same company and thus they have all my info. I now wait for their reply....I am sure that they probably wont reply and just ignore the letter and cash in the postal order as they seem to do that. But fingers crossed..... Any advice or comments greatly welcomed! Anyone got any contact details for anyone in GE that I can email or phone if I get no reply? Damien
  11. Hello peeps, I have had 4 accounts with GE capital over 10 years....I have not used any of them in a few years but I will have had charges levied on these accounts when I was a student...when I had lots of money woes! I am sure they owe me a fortune! Can I send one Data Request Letter and one £10 for all 4 accounts? Or do I need to send 4 letters and 4x £10? Any ideas folks? I have got an address of a thread in leeds for Ge, and a name Sarah Wainwright....any one know any others that would be useful? Cheers, The Bokebeast!
  12. guys tell me this.... I have been refused payment of the money after sending a letter with the charges added up and a schedule of every charge. But I can't find a letter in the library to send to nationwide advising them that I will be taking the matter to the small claims. There is a letter saying that I am disappointed that i have not recieved a reply....but I have recieved one saying no! Do I need to send another later? To give them 14 days to reconsider? Your advice would be appreciated! many thanks Damo
  13. hey thanks you guys for the positive vibes! I am in Belfast, so I will be using the small calims court in NI, I see from the forum others have used it but I have not found anyt success stories yet...do you know of any? I am currently changing my bank account to the halifax....just as a back up! Cheers guys...the help is much appreciated! Damo
  14. Hi, Ok I have got as far as being refused a refund...but I am not beaten yet! I am owed nearly £1900.....WOW! nationwide have suggested that if I dont like the charges i can close my account and go somewhere else! So next step.....the small claims! I have to say I do feel a bit less than 100% confident because I feel the charges are my fault for being so crap at handling my finances when I was student....but part of says thats what they want me to feel! So onward I go! wish me luck! The boke beast!
  15. Hi, I have just been refused payment after sending back a list of my charges and a letter requesting the money back. They have suggested that I get another account somewhere else if i do not like their terms and conditions, and if I want to I can contact the ombudsman. anyone else had success with nationwide? the boke beast
