  1. I would like to thank Lee from his help on this, I really appreciate, it just came when it was most needed and things were getting really desperate. I'm happy to confirm that the default on my credit file has been removed by Vodafone. Since it doesn't seem to have negatively affected my job application I will not persue this any further in terms of compensation etc, although in general I still think that the "power" given to companies to be able to impact customer's lifes in such a way is incredibly unfair and outrageous. On the practical side, although this very unfair default has caused me and my family an incredible and unneccesary stress and it has also cost me financially in terms of higher interests, etc, I think it would take a long time for me to pursue and I prefer to spend focusing this time on my new job.
  2. Hi silverfox1961, I'm awaiting to see what Vodafone has to say, I have told Lee about a current Job process I'm going through that requires a credit check and I'm awaiting to hear from them too. I reserve all my options open speciall if I'm rejected for this job on the credit search grounds after passing all the interviews. I hope they can come back with an answer soon and it is before the credit check for the Job.
  3. Thanks 2Grumpy, I have had a reply from Lee who is looking into this, I really hope they can sort out something soon as it might affect another recruiting process I'm currently involved in. If I'm affected any further and this is not quickly resolved, I'm willing to go the long way, this is an extremely unfair treatment that is having a lot of consequences.

  5. Hi, After beeing rejected for credit, mortgages etc for a few months I discovered that the reason is a Default entry on my credit score from Vodafone, dated July 2010 and for £33 from my previous address. I contacted VF several times and explained that I had moved home after closing my contract and that I did not receive any default notices at all. They agreed it was harsh but they told me to pay through a Debt collection company and I did straight away. I contacted several times afterwards to try to get the default removed as it is having a devastating effect on my, and my familie's life. It has affected my job applications, my 3 years old education bills, I'm paying very high credit interests and to summarise it has created a nightmare situation for us. They agreed it was harsh but will not remove the default entry. I also explained that I stayed with them for 3 years and paid EVERY MONTH the bill. They even acknowledged that after porting my number to another company I allowed 6 weeks before cancelling my direct debit and never received a call to tell me about outstanding balances. I'm unsure whether default notices were in fact served because, as I said I moved to a new home. Therefore I think this is an extremely harsh treatment, very unfair as the default was caused through no fault of my own. I paid all my bills, I allowed 6 weeks before closing my direct debit and I was unaware of any outstanding balances. The effect that £33 unpaid pounds is having on my life is incredibly disproportionate and to think that this might carry on for another 5 years is just unbelievable. I would really appreciate if someone can help me with this, I will follow the instructions and send and email to Vodafone and paste their reference here. Thanks in advance.
