  1. We got scared off at the stage of filing with court as reading these posts, Abbey take it right to the end! Where do we stand now at trying to get these charges back? Just been fulled up again as this month they have charged us £114.99 on charges, some of which were payments to themselves for their credit card! :?
  2. Thanks for that but we are going to pay for it if we have to as due to us getting our bathroom split into two for an ensuite and another bathroom we do need the pressure. Does anyone have any idea if we can fight them?
  3. Ok, we had got to the stage when I should have filed a claim but due to a family member being critcally ill it got forgotton about, silly I know but life sometimes has to take priority. Where do I start from here? Should I start at stage one again or file money claim? And will abbey make problems with the delay?
  4. Ok I know i may be on my own with this problem but if anyone has any advice on how to handle this then it would be very, very gratefully received! It's a long one so bare with me..... Me and my boyfriend are in the process of trying to get our house updated and two of the things that deperatly needed doing was the heating and bathrooms. So when we got someone out to talk through our plans for a shower we had to explain that we had quite low water pressure, well very low in fact, something we have just thought was quite normal and had to deal with. When we were told it could change completley the type of heating system we wanted and limit the possability of having a shower we started to look into this. So we got Yorkshire water out to look at it and while we were at it asked about a water meter cause we were paying nearly triple than some newer houses in our area. So out they came, dug up the road and said we were on a standpipe that fed 4 houses, we were 3rd house in the chain BUT as far as they were concerned the water going to the standpipe was enough to feed all 3 houses therefore it was our own problem. We could however buy a new line to the house at a nice tidy sum of £1200, oh and cause we were on a standpipe we cant have water meter! So at this point we thought fine, not exactly happy about this but we'll get our heating sorted first, it had just broke and 2 weeks before xmas we needed it doing ASAP. Tested the water pressure on the first night and it was great! This was about 10pm mind you, a time when everyone else in the chain would be unlikely to be using theirs. Day after, normal working day, normal flow problems. So deciding to tackle one bit at a time we got onto them about the cost, they re-assessed it and said well yes actually for a small mid terrace of 2 adults, you are paying too much and halved it (how we wish we had complained years ago now!). But we are still left with the water problem, not only does it put having the bathroom done on hold but because we now are on a combi boiler, when running hot water it runs even slower! I don't mean to be skeptical but we doubt some how that it can be something on our part to fix and thing £1200 is very excessive to get a new supply. We are a bit stuck though on how to precede ffrom here as want to complain in the most clear, concise fast way that we can. Anyone can help?

    Moneyclaim

Just at the point now where I have to put my claim into legal terms. Can anyone help with this step by step as I'm terrified I'll get it wrong and end up just loosing!

  12. Ok got the standard, blah blah, you're not happy here have a mesley amount of money from abbey, is there a standard letter to go with it to say thanks but still will be taking it further?
  13. Thanks guys, will send letter off today
  14. ok im getting desperate, does anyone know where to start on this one!
  15. Does anyone not know on this one then?
  16. Ok, after taking on Abbey for my boyfriend and smile and first direct I realised I have an old cahoot account that due to very bad planning when i first bought my house, has had to go to a debt management company. As you can imagine, the charges they are piling on me every single month are shocking! So here is my question for someone with hopefully a bit more knowlegege than me, i have a credit card, bank and loan account with them. Can I ask for a breakdown of charges on all 3 and because I'm not sure exactly how long i've had my bank account how many years do I ask for? :-|
  17. Ok today is day 40 so if i've got this right i should now be sending out the blurb you had 40 days now have another 7 before i take it any further and estamating costs for the past 6 years and sending that out as well? Just want to get this right! :o
  18. Thanks Will get them ready to send out as soon as they have missed the deadline, which no doubt, they will! They only thing is that the last years has been v v low compared to the rest (as i moved in here it obviously made things a bit easier) so if they never give the rest what do i do as it could be a lot I'm missing out on.
  19. Ok the 40 days is up on thursday and with all the changes going off I'm a bit confused now as to what the next thing we need to do. HELP!!
  20. I've got the statements for about a year and thats it at the min so what would you recomment?
  21. Right well so far not so bad. Filed with smile for my 40 day data, got a nice letter saying were dealing with and would be with me before the 40 days. Phoned them friday as the 40 days is up on thursday this week and guess what, would be sent out monday at the latest. In other words, right on the dot of the 40 days even though from the sounds of things they had been ready for ages! Grrr
  22. Ok well I'm here to submit my so far short story with Abbey as people on here like me like to follow how we are all doing After what was a very very surprising win from first direct (1 letter and full refund!) decided to takle my bank, Smile, and my boyfriends bank, scAbbey! And you guessed it, smack bang in on the whole microfeache argument! My fourty days are up as of Thursday so came on here looking for the next step.....
