  3. Dear All I have requested £875 from my bank - Barclays, they have sent me there final offer of £375 - I have declined this offer. Now before I make a claim with the moneyclaim website and pay the fee's, I have made a complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service they are now writing to Barclays on my behalf saying that I am still not happy with what they have offered me. Has anyone else complained to them before going to the small claims court and had there money returned in full? Haley
  4. I used a spreadsheet that was provided on the website and I used 8% - dont really understand interest rates! Haley x
  5. Ok so i should not accept! i have already sent my LBA so i am now going to file a claim on the moneyclaim website. Please can someone confirm that the refund amount i am asking for below is correct? I calculate that you have taken £875.00 in charges plus £156.05 for overdraft interest = Total £1,031.05 Is this correct? Haley x
  6. Hi everyone I originally asked Barclays to refund me back £1000 they have offered me £375, I wrote them a letter saying that I would accept that £375 payment as an interim but would still require the rest otherwise i would start legal action. They have responded by saying this: Dear Miss W I confirm that my offer was made in full and final settlement of your complaint with Barclays Bank PLC and therfore I will not be able to pay the sum of £375 as an interim measure. I aknowledge that you require your claim to be settled in full and note your additional comments. However after careful consideration, I regret that I am not able to increase my offer. Should i just accept that offer as I dont think I feel confident enough to start legal action. Please advise.....
  7. Hi Neo I sent the bank the above template that you drafted up for me, but they have just responded saying once again that £375 is there final offer out of the £1000 that im asking for back. Should i just accept now? I am at at work at the moment, but when i get home i will send you a copy of the letter. Haley x
  8. Once again thanks for your time and your help Haley x Merged threads, please keep to the same one.
  9. Thanks very much for the letter thats a great help. Yes i did work the interest out using the 8% on the spreadsheet, if that is incorrect what do you suggest i do as i have already sent the letter requesting that amount. Haley
  10. Could anyone please draft me up a short letter to the bank saying that i do accept the first offer but i will also require the rest of the payment as requested? Please Thanks x (Im not very good at writing letters)
  11. Hi everyone Barclays have sent me a letter today offering me £375, but i have also sent the letter before action today asking them to refund me £875 plus £156 for interest charges and that if they don't pay in full within 14 days i shall be submitting a claim against them. Has anyone been successful in refusing the first offer and getting refunded the full amount without having to go to court - i am a bit nervous now about the thought of having to go to court and am now thinking maybe i should have excepted the offer! Haley x
  12. Hi Has anyone got a copy or template of the Letter before action? Thanks Haley
  13. I have sent a letter to my bank requesting that they pay me back the X amount that they have took from me over the last six years in charges i have said they must reply within 14 days giving me a date in which i can expect a refund. They have wrote back saying that they are looking into the matter and that they will respond by the 25th April - what should i do next? Thanks
  14. I have wrote a letter to my bank requesting a refund for the total amount of xxx for unlawful charges made to my account and i have asked them to reply within 14 days accepting my request and to let me know a date which i will recieve my payment by. The have responded in writing saying that they are sorry that i have had to contact them and that they are looking into my concerns and that they will have an answer or update by the 25th April 2006, which is long past the 14 days that i gave them originally. Should i a) accept this and wait for the repsonse by 25th April or: b) just go ahead and send them the letter saying that they have another 14 days to reflect before i take action? Thanks
