  2. Hi there, I havent read the whole thread here - but dont be too hard on that friend. The same thing has happened to me with no foul play on my part and when I look on-line there are a few others it has affected too. I got good customer support the first time it happened so that is def worth a try but its happened again now and I'm abroad so not so easy to sort out. All the best, Cat
  3. Paypal itself isn't a good source of info for these problems because it suits them not to be. BF has already handed over £15 to them for 'admin charges' when he got the money back that they were prepared to give him. There is scope for an independent forum so please let Barracad know about it - I'm sure he wont mind. Thanks for the other advice as well. The more I'm reading about Paypal, the more worried I'm getting, although some of it isn't a surprise to me. Its OK (albeit costly enough) when things go right but when things go wrong, they are really very, very bad.
  4. Thank you ladybird. I find the pay pal site a bit painful but I will get back to it. Cat
  5. Hello, Is there a section on the site about Ebay and Paypal Fraud please? I have had a look but can't see anuy info anywhere. In short, my bf was ripped off (in the purchase of a mobile phone) by an Ebay trader and the police say they will not investigate it. I would be prepared to take out small claims action against this man. BF did get some money back through Paypal but there is still over £100 that he is out of pocket. The seller says it is a case of ID fraud but there is evidence against this (emails and responses/ a separate complainant who has had a similar problem and who has proof of addresses etc). Thank you, Cats Pajamas
  6. Template letter emailed to court as Barty suggested. Will send copy to bank as well. Cat
  7. Do I need to let the court know about this? I guess I do..?
  8. Donation made through paypal/ CAG survey filled in. Do I need to take any action to move my thread to the successes board? Thanks, Cat
  9. Hi all, I will wait until I have heard from the solicitors formally before I spend the money (LOL) but in the meantime can anyone remind me how to make my donation to the www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk please. I told my family and friends this feels like an 'Oscars moment'. There are so many people I want to thank. Bye for now, Cat
  10. Hi there, (I am so happy I might just wet myself!!!! A few of you will get a pm!!! The donation will be on the way soon!!!!! Thank you! ) I have just checked my bank accounts and the money I was claiming is there! I can't express how I feel. I have no idea what the delay was but I live in London so I was prepared to sit on my hands. Lets hope there is one hell of a party for all of us at some point this year!!! (preferably after April) Thanks for all the support, Cant wait to copy this message to one of the 'pinkies' - It will have to be Gary! Take care, Cat
  11. Hello All, I just got this. Once again i have limited email access although i will obviously try to stay on top of it. I was expecting a months notice... Best wishes, Cat From: Royal Coursts of Justice group Tel : 020 7947 6112 email: [email protected] Your Ref: 2007-*** Dear 'sir' Re: 2007 Folio *** Cat************** vs Lloyds TSB Your case has been transferred to the London Mercantile Court which is based within the Admiralty and Commercial Courts at the RCJ, Strand, London. Your case has been allocated the number 2007 Folio *** this number to be used in future correspondance (This is a different reference number to the heading so I suspect it's wrong). There will be a small claims hearing in this case and in several others which raise the same or similar issues at 9:30am on 26 Feb 07. The hearing is intended to give directions for the hearing of some or all these cases in a way which saves time and expense. It is hoped all parties will attend but if this in not practicable the Court will be pleased to consider the written views of any party provided these reach the court by no later than 21 Feb 2007. Although some of these cases have been allocated to the Multi track, it is the provisional view of the Judge that costs rules for the Small Claims Track should apply to them. Yours etc Alex Smith..
