  1. Update i just wanted to thank everyone here for their calm advice. The compliance check was randomly generated in the system and I got picked as my partner flagged up on my credit check account as linked to me and my address. Which he is as we’re currently in the process of buying our first home together. I just told her the facts and truth, the dates we applied for our mortgage etc and all tallied up on their system and checks. No penalties or fines, no issues what so ever. She advised me on what to do once we cohabited and move, how to close down and open a new claim and all was well. Thanks once again and good luck to anyone having a compliance check soon.
  2. Thank you for your reply. The very fact we will be moving in together, but on a new claim in our new home soon is somewhat tinged now as this hangs over. Even with nothing to declare it’s just an added stressor.
  3. Hi all I’ve read back a few pages for similar circumstances or situations so the almighty panic has died down somewhat. I’ve received a HMRC letter stating “linked person to address” with a given three month period in early 2022 to account for. I do have a partner, we do not cohabit currently and never have, but are in the process of buying a property which is possibly where the link has come from as I’ve used this address for the new joint mortgage proposal to start, new life insurance, new home insurance etc. We didn’t use his residence as it’s his mother’s which has extremely poor credit attached and also as he works away and I don’t speak to her it’s easier for correspondence to be completed quicker coming here. On the reverse is a list of things I would need for the telephone call for that 3 month period, all easily obtained and to hand all in my name, utilities, council tax, bank statement, current mortgage statement etc. On the bank statements are just normal transactions of payments for the children as we have always done. The only things linking him and I are for moving forwards together in the coming weeks when we do finally move in together. As we’ve just completed a mortgage application I’ve viewed his credit file and can see his bank address is mine (it looks like the bank stupidly changed it when he opened our sons ISA under my address as son lives with me). He didn’t even know as he does paperless statements which he never opens. So I’m assuming this is the historic link back to 2022. And our car is registered here and insured here under him, as I’m the main driver as it’s for our children one of which is severely disabled, but it’s finance agreement is at his address and he owns the car. He is also registered with the NHS, DVLA, his business, private health care, work etc at the address he resides at. We’ve never moved in together as for the first part of our relationship I was divorcing and ex stipulated I was not to cohabit whilst going through divorce and then it just sort of never happened. Do I just honestly explain this as I’ve written above and see what happens?
