  1. Hi there I bought a laptop from currys in September last year. 1 month of of owning it and the charger popped so I was sent a replacement then 2 months after this the replacement popped so I yet again. Was supplied with a replacement which seemed to last for around 5 months then that one popped so a total of 3 chargers popped then the 4th replacement seemed to last until September this year when I heard a buzzing noise . My charger sits on a table with my laptop as I went to investigate the noise the buzzing stopped so I returned to my seat and then around 5 minutes later the buzzing returned but even louder so my first reaction was to unplug the charger so I have unplugged the charger from laptop and picked it up and bent down to unplug it from the wall when it exploded it my hands lucky I wasn't injured but it wasn't the power brick itself that had exploded it was the wire that goes from socket into the power brick (I'll add pictures ) anyway spoke with acer and they said it was very concerning and seems to be a bad issue but informed me my warranty was with currys so I spoke with currys who advised me the laptop would need Inspection . So they picked it up last Monday I spoke with someone the next day who advised me engineer could find any faults with the laptop at all and are looking to do a warranty claim with acer . So I left it until Thursday and rang them up they said its been sent over to the write of team as engineer can't find a fault and due to the 3 charger popping and 4th exploding they want it written off so that was fine I got a text the next evening saying there's an update and I need to call so I called the man told me the laptop has been written off and ill get a voucher in a day or 2 so I waited until Friday and called them only to be told the laptop hasn't been written of the engineer has found liquid residue on the board and that its being returned to me unrepaired and my Care and repair plan cancelled. I was advised my next steps was to get an independent report to prove them wrong and then they might relook at it. Anyway I have an independent company looking at it they have advised me that the currys engineer has left the battery unplugged loose inside , they have said they can't find any water damage and the laptop is in full working order, the laptop has always been working even when they picked it up it was called in for inspection for safety Concerns I have tried using resolver to get my complaint dealt with and no-one has returned my emails or messages , so then I decided I've had enough and I've emailed Alex Baldock the ceo given him 7 working days to address it before legal action is taken which I got a quick response saying its been past to the executive customer resolutions team I've just had enough of all the bull I have all my calls recorded the one of saying no faults found the 1 of saying the laptop had been written off also when I got the laptop back there was no report from engineer stating his findings I got a letter in with the laptop that said the damaged caused to the laptop wasn't covered under care and repair and that my agreement has been cancelled that was it so after 7 working days I do intend to proceed to claims court * I just tried to add the picture but it won't let me lol *
