  1. I filed in the response saying I was going to defend the claim yes. In the meantime I'd spoken to Lowell about my issues and about a week later they withdrew the case and now they are contacting me again. I confused to say the least.
  2. Hi all. I e just received a 50% discount letter from Lowell for an old Vanquis account. This has been on going for sometime and I've had numerous communications with them. Firstly I asked them for the assignment notice. They supplied this along with a reconstituted statement showing defaults in 2016 with my final payment in early 2017 followed by a refund which was apparently to do with Vanquis PPI. This is where it gets interesting though. My Vanquis account vanished from my credit file in early 2018 and then suddenly reappeared in early 2019 under Lowell! On Equifax it shows no payments for 2017 which there most definitely was. Now Lowell claim that the account defaulted in early 2019. The account fell into arrears after the untimely death of my sister in 2015 and I went through an unbelievably hard time and was off work and unable to pay. I know for sure that by January of 2016 the account was in default and my last payment was in 2017. I since been under treatment for mental health issues and latterly off work again, recently, for surgery. My last communication with lowell was at the end of August 2020 when I had received court papers. I explained my situation and that I was having mental health issues and I also questioned some of the calculations and dates. The court claim then disappeared and now they are contacting me again offering a discount. Any ideas as to why? Thanks in advance
