Together Property Management are the management company for a conversation flat I own. This is the second time they have decided that “ major works” are required even though repairs are supposed to be done as required and only external decoration is done every 5/6 years. Cost £13000 per flat. Basically, as has already been said, the company is owned by Southern Land Securities based in Manchester with the accounts office of TPM being a P.O. Box in Altringham. What a coincidence! They are monetising the freehold. They employ a survey to find as much wrong with the building- this means full renovation to a new building. Something we are not liable for. They mark up the survey or take a large commission. We had our own survey done around £1000 , they charged £7000. They then employ renovation company and presumably take another cut. They also charge a commission to manage the works. So the higher the value of the works the more money they make. Im now referring it to 1st Tier Property Tribunal .
