  1. Hiya Jules, I had this problem too regarding maintenance charges. Think these £8.50 and £10.00 charges are a standard charge for using your overdraft facility every month. Eventhough you may still be within the limit of your overdraft they charge you more for every £ you are over £100 (in my case anyway the first £100 was free, over that you pay an additional charge). I think these charges are still unnecessary as they charge overdraft interest on top of these maintenance charges every month. Maybe someone more clued up will advise you but I have added them in my schedule of charges. Good luck with your claim davg
  2. Hi George, thanks for that. I will probably send the two letters anyway hopefully getting a quick response so I can get my claim started. Looks like there's a pattern emerging with the Clydesdale and Yorkshire, I think they want to see how serious we all are about going to court and wether we all have the bottle to go through with an appearance if they defend. To be honest I will still be sh*****g myself to go to court but the worst that could happen is you lose £39, so I will definately be going for it, my 9 month old twins and 3 year old will get a special xmas this year if all goes to plan. Keep me posted on your progress. Cheers davg
  3. Hello again, received sod off letter from branch manager saying charges were fair and reflected banks costs to maintain administrative systems blah blah... Will be sending LBA off asap. I was wondering if I should send two LBA's (one to branch manager and one to customer relations) ? good luck everyone davg
  4. Hello again, quick update. Received a letter from my branch manager at clydesdale saying he would need to investigate the points raised in prelim letter then one week later got the fob off letter I was expecting refusing to refund the charges. I will now send LBA giving them 14 days to respond positively, fat chance. Can anyone tell me if I should send LBA to customer relations as well as my branch manager ? Cheers, and good luck everyone ! davg
  5. Hi George, no reply as yet, just the investigation letter, LBA wil be sent Wednesday as per schedule. cheers davg
  6. Hi Micky, sorry, I missed your post earlier but good luck with your claim !
  7. Hello again, quick update. Sent prelim letter with schedule of charges to local branch and received letter back from manager saying they need time to investigate the charges so once the 14 days are up LBA going pronto ! Cheers davg
  8. Hi Yvonne, I asked this a few days ago and was advised to issue the credit card claim seperate from the currrent accounts claim. As for wring your letter you would be right to lump the two current account sets of charges together then split it up into chunks of £750 if it goes to court. Good luck davg
  9. Good luck with your claim, keep us posted. davg
  10. Hi George, I've just sent my prelim letter last week too, prepared for usual bull in reply but we've just got to be patient and follow the procedure until they get the message we mean business... Keep us updated, cheers davg
  11. Congratulations and well done SR , have been following your thread for a while now so it's good to see the Clydesdale caving in at last. davg
  12. Hiya Rachel, thanks for your kind reply and welcome. I have now changed my schedule and letter, sent off today. Thanks davg
  13. Hello, hope this doesn't sound too daft but do i have to send two seperate prelim letters to Clydesdale bank for my current account and for my Clydesdale bank Mastercard account or can i claim for both in the same claim ? It's just that the two sets of statememts were sent together but ii'm sure that they are two seperate institutions. Can anyone put me right on this. :-| THANKS davg
  14. Hi Steveandluc, I'm sure that they charge £10 for the Royalties Gold account. As for the £30 or £40 charges I expect them to be some sort of maintenance charge for maybe being over your overdraft limit or having a returned dd or s/order the previous month. I'm also unsure about these service charges as I have these charges most months at £22.50 (with clydesdale) normally for being over my overdraft limit after having a returned s/o. I'm also wondering if you can claim some of this back. Good luck davg
  15. Hello again, after going through my statements I am still a little unsure about claiming for service charges. I'm in the middle of doing my schedule of charges to go with my preliminary letter and don't know if the £22.50 charge the folowing month for being over my overdraft limit counts as I have one of those after every irregular fee or unpaid s/o, sorry if this sounds daft but after reading the FAQ on this I'm still a bit confused. I do know that in the terms and conditions of your agreement that you do pay for having an overdraft facility but not £22.50 a month, morelike £8.50 or £10.00 depending how much over £100 it is. It's just that my account is a bog standard current account with no perks attatched. Any advice would be much appreciated. thanks davg
  16. Hi everyone, I have been with the clydesdale almost 17 years and have decided after viewing this site to have a go at getting these charges back. I've recently received my statements for my current account and a mastercard. I'll hopefully be claiming back about £1500. I am in the middle of doing my schedule of charges and was wondering if anyone could advise me on the service charges levied (the maintenance charge you get the following month for being over your overdraft limit) as I read on the FAQ's that if you agree as part of the T&C's then you cannot claim these back however after checking back over the statements found that the service charge increased a lot if you went over your limit as a posed to staying within your limit e.g. £8.50 - £22.50. Just think that this is unnecessary as they have already charged me already for example a returned standin order or direct debit. Sorry for going on a bit but would like to complete this schedule asap, any help would be much appreciated and good luck with all your claims. davg
  17. Hi everyone, received my statements yesterday, that was quick ! I have went through them and am going for around £1500.00 between my current account and mastercard. Probably split it into two claims of £750. Prelim letter will be winging it's way on monday. Prepared for the usual fob off's though. Might need to ask about service charges in later posts (can't make my mind up about a few of the charges). Will have another read through some other threads and go over the FAQ's again. Good luck with your claim George, go for it. Cheers davg
  18. Hello again, received a DPA request aknowlegement letter from Fiona Findlay of Customer Support to say they have 40 days to provide me with my statements for the last five years. Hopefully they will come soon. Can't wait to get the highlighter out on these babies as they have took a small fortune from me over the years. It's great that we've now got a chance to stand up to these bully boy tactics...let battle commence. davg
  19. Hi everyone, my name is David and have just got the ball rolling and sent the Data Protection Act letter dated 15th July requesting statements going back five years. Have been waiting to take these ******'s on for years and am ready for a fight. I will keep you all posted on my progress as I have been glued to the threads for the past couple of weeks (quality stuff) reading up on your own battles. Any help and advice would be much appreciated. Cheers David [MOD - POSSIBLE LIBELLIOUS COMMENT - JMIO]
  20. Hi everyone, have been lurking for a few days now trying to read up on the relevant threads and picking up on the superb information and advice given on this site. It has now given me the confidence to go ahead with the claims against the banks (Clydesdale, RBOS) and will try and keep everyone posted on my progress. davy
