Finally my statements arrived. Just wondering though, on one occasion I was charged £30 for an overdraft fee, £15 for an excess overdraft fee and £14.66 overdraft interest. I phoned first direct and asked them to apply the charges when I get paid so that I didn't go overdrawn in a month where I was within my overdraft limit and to always apply my charges at the start of the month thereafter. They agreed and immediately refunded the charges, but reapplied them 2 days later. I'm presuming because of the manual intervention in refunding the charges, I won't be able to claim these? Is this correct? Any advice greatly appreciated. I think I'll have a total around the £400 mark by the way? William24

I'm exactly the same; it seems like forever I've been waiting for my statements. I received my letter saying they are on the way on 22/06/06 and still nothing!! Its just making me more and more determined, so they’re not doing themselves any favours!!

Hi again, I'm after a bit of advice, I sent off my Data Protection Act letter on 17/06/06 and got the standard reply back on the 22/06/06 saying statements are on their way. The thing is I'm still waiting for these statements to arrive and from reading other peoples posts, they seem to come though in a matter of days rather than weeks like I've been waiting. I know in the DPA states they are given 40 days to comply, so do I hold out and presume everything is ok or do they need chasing up with another letter? Anyhow, glad to read about other people’s successes. Hopefully I'm not too far behind. William24

Hi, I've been reading for a few weeks and decided to finally get round to posting. So far, the Data Protection Act has been sent on 17/06/06. On the 22/06/06 I recieved the letter from Linda Young, returning my £10 and saying the statements would be sent by courier free of charge. Its now over a week since Linda's letter and still no statements, is this length of time normal for First Direct? I was under the impression it'd only take a few more days? Thanks, I'll keep you updated. William24
