Hi, thanks for the advice. I'll tell mum to return any more letters and just keep my head down. Hopefully they'll go away.

Hi, I took out some old.style student loans in 1994-1997. I moved abroad in 1998 once I finished my degree and am still abroad. I last heard from them in 2000 when i wrote a letter saying that my mum could write on my behalf as I was in Africa and mail was extremely slow! I then forgot all about them. I've just visited my mum and found a letter from link financial, addressed to me at my mums which said that they expect to recover the balance. My husband says to just leave it, that it's statute barred, but I feel uneasy at my mum receiving this. She said now that she's had letters, addressed to me, phone calls asking for me and people at the door. I don't know if they ever took out a ccj, as I've been abroad for 20 years. Not sure what to do. Thanks for any advice.
