  1. Are they liable to withdrawl the offer and I could end up with nothing ?
  2. So - Ive received a reply from Halifax They owe me at least £620.00 and with the charge for this month which I included on the LBA / Schedule - £650. If I accept this offer - is that the end of it ? Or can I claim the other £225ish ? Advice greatly appreciated.
  3. Ok, so their 14 days is up - sending the LBA them today, wish me luck!
  4. Send a letter to here: Customer Relations Halifax PLC Permanent Buildings Commercial Street Halifax HX1 1BH Step by step instructions on reclaiming bank charges are here: http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/faqs-please-read-these/243-step-step-instructions.html
  5. The peliminary letter was sent off, I recieved a reply within three days, with a standard letter stating that "I am sorry to learn that you are unhappy with the charges applied to your account, we're keen to deal with your concerns as quickly as possible. A customer relations manager will inverstigate the points you have raised and you will receive a reply shortyl, but no later than 4 weeks" So if Im following the step-by-step instructions correctly, I now allow them 14 days from the date they received my letter, to comply with my request, if they fail I then send them the LBA. In the meantime, they've added another £68 in charges to my account!! Thanks for all the help so far
  6. Ok, yet more charges from Halifax They've gone up now £39 charge! Paypal took the money from my bank acc instead of my credit card What I'd like to know, is, what are the chances of Halifax closing my credit card account if I demand the charges back on my bank accounts?? Im not asking for any charges back regarding the credit card, as I've never had any. I owe £1000 on my credit card (which I pay off each month I might add - I dont want them to close the credit card account and demand back the £1000. Can anyone offer any advice ? ALSO, now Ive got my statements, do I just send the standard claim letter ?
  7. Ok, So I've now sent off the first letter demanding they repay over £600 of charges (just aswell I waited until today, as I had to add another £28 which they charged me yesterday!) What are the chances of Halifax demanding that I close the account ? I dont have another current account (I have a savings account), and might not be able to get one due to some bad credit history when I was younger. This is the only thing between me carrying all the way on with the job of getting the charges back and not getting them back, just to keep the account and rebuild my credit rating. Help appreciated!
  8. So, they've written back aknowledging my request for information regarding my banking history and are sending duplicate copies of my statements They have also said: "We regard to your request for information relating to manual intervention on your account HBOS plc is under no statutory obligation to record this information and thefore, I am unable to assist further with your request" Can anyone confirm if this is true?
  9. Hi All, Halifax are again charging me stupid amounts for going over my limit and not realising. 7 or 8 charges of £28 in two weeks, on top of all the other charges they have made against me since I've been with them. £28 charge for spending 0.55p! wtf! Will they force me to pay everything back and close my account if try and get the charges reimbursed? Also, will my credit card which is also Halifax, be cancelled? Advice appreciated!
