Hello Everyone, I have quite the history of bad credit and have spent the last three years trying to fix this, I wanted to get my credit report but I am concerned this will send any of the old creditors on to my case and I will be inundated with bills. Whilst I am a little paranoid as I have paid quite a bit back I would like to know if they will be informed of my address and that I have asked for the report? What does Equifax and co tell them? Thanks for any advice

So is that a visit fee + letter fee as the letters have been hand posted on the visit. So this far I have Fine inc court fees £94 Visit one £33 i think visit two £40ish visit three $50ish Total £220 So it shouldn't exceed £178 though. But i can still argue the last fee given that he didnt make any effort to knock etc? Thanks

A couple of questions 1. Are visiting costs a standard amount ? I have read somewhere that £24.50 is the standard? 2. If they visit more than once should the visit cost increase? 3. When visiting should they a) knock and b) put date and times on the letters they have posted? My position is this 3 years ago rossendales visited and made a £99 council debt into £500 or they would take my car, costs were visits, levying my car and waiting whilst i went and got the cash (the last two was almost £300 of charges) I paid and that was that. Now I have a parking fine which has equated to £94. They have been once and I had then been and got enough cash to cover £120 for when they came again (I wasnt in) They then came again when I was out and dropped another letter through without a date (no charges mentioned) my mrs was in at that point and they didnt knock just put the letter through They then came again today and again didnt knock just put the letter through, this time claiming £30 for first visit £40 for second £50 for third Totalling £220 for a £94 debt. During this time I have tried to contact him 4 times on the phone and tried to pay the debt online (it informs me to contact the bailiff) Any advice on where to go next is appreciated. I have the cash to pay the debt, but should I pay it then fight or fight then pay? Thanks

Hello everyone, Background info Lived in a house for 2 months of a 6 month contract and after various issues with the letting agent, i informed them that if the issues were not resolved i would leave. I left between 2nd and 3rd month i think (it was 2 years ago). Thought nothing more of it and then last week recieved a letter informing me that i had been taken to court and now owe ~£2000. Question My question is, can i be taken to court without being informed and given the legal right to defend myself? The letting agent did not have a forwarding address for myself and so could not have given me any notice of the proceedings and also the letter i recieved was actually delivered to my gf's parents house where i have never lived. any advice on what to do now would be greatly appreciated? Thanks

Hello Everyone, I have had various council tax bills from the last 4 houses i was in and have successfully paid back 3 previous houses and am just paying back the house i am currently in. I had a direct debit setup for £250 and unfortunatly i couldn't pay it this month due to various reasons and so within two weeks i have been sent two bills £211.38 for periods 01/10/07 - 31/03/08 £844.00 for periods 01/04/08 to 31/03/09 a week later these have been passed on to bristow and sutor who are demanding the money within 14 days. Now i have two querys firstly i can pay the £211.38 this month so can have that wiped off but the other amount i cant pay. The issue i have is that the second amount includes 6 months in the future, surely they cannot ask me to pay for 6 months inthe future as i could move out next month and they would have to pay it me back. Please can someone advise me of my options as a £400 bill for the 6 months i have been here is obviously easier to pay then £844 Any advice greatly appreciated Matt

No maybe your getting confused with the two threads i have I have two council tax issues one is for £101.13 Rossendales came and i paid the £101.13 to the council and have also now paid £400 ish to rossandales (paying the debt twice as they were going to take the car) Bristow and sutor i have the same issue with except i have paid the council tax bill of £400 and i am not sure if they will be coming here tomorrow to try and collect their fees. So basically total is £500 council tax all paid online. I have also paid £400 in bailiff fees. Total £900 outgoings for £500 debt.

Well he would not remove it unsurprisingly, i have had to pay the debt now which totalled £389.93 Sot he original debt was £101.13 which i paid online. He added the following £24.50 no reason £18.00 no reason £170.00 Enforcement Fee 60.00 Waking time. Please can anyone advice on the legality of the fee's and more importantly my chances of getting anything back. Thanks Matt

Car is moved and no longer available. Why would it be too late to sell? i have not agreed to anything or signed anything and as far as the law is concerned it is now my property. As for them reading this, i would be more then happy for them to read my posts and know that they will not intimidate me. My house is secure and locked 100% of the time without fail, they will not get into my house and i will not be paying a penny to them directly. I tried to make an agreement with the last bailiff who accepted the agreement and tried to get into my house for me to sign it. I informed him this would NEVER be the case as i was aware he would then be able to do a wlaking possesion. He then went to the car and put a letter through my door saying i had not agreed to make an arrangement. As far as i am concerned he has shot himself in the foot as now B & S will get nothing. Matt

Paying the debt is not the issue at the moment. The main issue is my car what i would like to know is if i "sell" it to my gf and register it in her name can they take it? No i have signed nothing, they ahve not entered my house and the fee's outlined are "accecptable" as far as i am concerned (although it does not bother me about fees as i will not be paying them). Thanks Matt

well basically, didnt pay council tax > Liarbility order > bristow and sutor. Offered B & S £50 a month which they refused and so have been saving to pay council tax online, i will have the full amount in 5 weeks when i intend to pay it off. The bailiff came round and i told him i had already made an offer which they refused and so i wasnt going to make another and i would pay the council directly. He has levied against my car and gone away. Matt
