  1. Our experience of Scottish Power's Home Comfort has been a nightmare. It's now 26/11/13 and 8 DAYS since we reported our boiler as faulty - and we STILL have no heating. My wife is 62 and has COPD (lung disease), and I'm 65 and have Coronary Heart Disease. Today we are looking after our 2 grandchildren, aged 1 and 3. No heating. An engineer was only called out because we reported a leak. The hot water and central heating were both working. But since the engineer's first visit - one week ago today - we have had no heating, and no hot water. So far 2 parts have been replaced, on 2 separate visits, including the heat exchanger. The last engineer's visit was 2 days ago. It seems they are now going to try replacing the rotary control which you use to select Hot Water only or Hot Water and Central Heating. This decision was made 2 days ago. After we'd heard nothing by 1pm the next day, I phoned the support line. They could tell me nothing - neither whether the part was in stock, whether it had been ordered, nor when we could expect it to be fitted. I asked if we could be kept informed. Another 24 hours have gone by, and we still have no idea what's happening. Also, the pump is running all the time - we can hear it. Have virtual given up hope. The boiler is only 7 years old. 27/11/13 They were due to call today to fit the new switch. They phoned to say the part has not arrived. Will have to re-order. Have re-scheduled to fit the part tomorrow, 28/11/13. In the meantime, the hot water has stopped working. We now have no central heating, and no hot water. This is now 9 DAYS since we reported the fault.
