  3. Hi I m new to this forum, but after reading so much and seeing so many helpful comments to others, i wondered if anyone had any words of wisdom for me. In january this year, my ex husband and I had our house repossessed after we failed to keep up payments on what was essentially a second mortgage. l'll explain here that we parted some years ago, and that he was living in the house with the 2 kids. We fought the repossession, and that cost money, and we did offer payment plans to try and avoid repossession, but the district judge on the day saw in favour of First plus and they were evicted in january. During all this time i had been moving around the country, latterly I was living in Devon, and heard nothing til it was all afoot. I had always kept them (First Plus) in touch of my whereabouts, and even after it had been passed to Red Castle Recoveries, i was in touch and tried to come to an arrangement. Anyway, in march i had a phone call from Red Castle informing me that there was a shortfall of almost £28,000 and that they were again working for First Plus in recovering this sum. They claimed that I had been informed by letter, this never arrived. I told the guy i didnt even know the house was sold, let alone about any shortfall. I spoke to my ex and he didnt know either....the solicitor who tried to stop the repossession didnt have any details either. From the shortfall, i m guessing that the house went for nothing. I told the guy at the time that i wasnt prepared to talk about it anymore until i had some written info....and that even then what were they going to take next as we now owned nothing !! He said they d apply for a CCJ and a wage attachment order if necessary....but that we could agree to 'ridiculously' low payments such as £10 to £20 per month in cases such as this and that it was normal....i said what 'for the rest of my life' ?? I ve heard nothing since march until today...WHAT DO I DO NEXT PLEASE ?? Yes i m working, so is my ex, but we still have 2 kids just about to go out into the World and we own nothing now...i even sold my mothers jewellery etc prior to all this. Any suggestions please.
