  1. Pity I did not think about it before. She was helpful originally but then stopped responding as she could not understand what the problem was. I gave her credit for the amount because I never thought that there could be a problem.
  2. The lady sent me the money from the Cameroun. It was a series of transactions. I was out of the country for a few months and when I tried to locate it got no response. Western Union said that I should contact the agent who confirmed that the money had not been withdrawn. So the money is in the coffers of Western Union and they will not help in any way. Any legal action would have to be taken in Cameroun because of the rules of Western Union.
  3. I have had severe problems through money sent to me via Western Union. I have gone into Western Union offices in London and they have failed to find the transfers on their screens. When I have complained to the Customer Service Department of Western Union they have not been able to or have been unwilling to help. I have taken the matter up with the Financial Ombudsman but they cannot help because the payment originated outside UK. I cannot get legal redress because Western Union has stipulated that any legal action must be taken in the originating country. Does this constitute fraud? Perhaps not but the end result is the same!
