  2. Hi just to give you a quick update. First Direct have acknowledged the claim and have decided to defend the case. Is this normal ? I am beginning to panic now as I have a feeling I will be the first one to have to go to court. Can anyone let me know if this is the response they have had from First Direct. Bev
  3. Hopefully I won't be waiting too long. bEV
  4. Hi claim has been issued today. How long does it take for DG solicitors to make an offer. I have decided when I finally get paid out I am going to clear one of my credit card balances and donate 5% to the website. Bev

  6. I have just started to fill in the claim. At the end of the form where asks for amount claimed I have added the sum of charges plus the 8% interest ,do I have to add in the daily rate of interest which I calculate to be 71p per day ,if so how do I calculate how many days to add on. Do I have to send the statement of charges in the post and the final question do I need to wait the 14 days or can I send it today. thanks Bev
  7. Can anyone tell me how to calculate the daily rate of interest on the moneyclaim form. I plan to get it already today so that I can send it off on 7th Aug thanks Bev:-)
  8. Well I received the usual reply from Robert Kernaghan sayinf FD weren't interested. I will start working on the moneyclaim form on Saturday with a view to sending it on 7th Aug. Hopefully within the next 2 weeks I should be receiving nearly £5k.What a result and it is all because of this brilliant website.
  9. Hi I have got one more question before I start competing the moneyclaim form. The daily interest is the total charges plus 8% interest x 0.00022 or just total charges x 0.00022. I am so grateful to all the help I have received from this forum.Without all your help there is no way I would be making a claim . As soon as receive the money I will be sending you the 5% donation. Bev
  10. Thanks for the reply. Sorry to be a pain but I have another question.Once I have filed the claim will FD pay the interest and court charges if they decide to settle and not go to court ?
  11. I am just about to complete the moneyclaim form. I have 2 accounts with First Direct where I have incurred charges. Can I claim for both accounts on one money claim form. The total including interest is under £5000
  12. This morning I sent the letter befor action to Mr Kernigam at First Direct. I thought I would check out the money claim form and start getting ready to send it off as I am sure First Direct will not be coughing up that easily. I have got a couple of questions about the form and I was wondering if somebody can answer them. 1) Can I claim for my 2 accounts on the one money claim form. Is so do I add the the overcharges together 2) How do I work out the daily rate of interest and do I have to claim it.I would be more than happy with just the overcharges plus 8% interest Originally Posted by my claim Claimant has account XXXXXXX with Defendant from approx XXXXdateXXXX, conducted under their standard Terms and Conditions. bev V b/card

I have decided to order the statements from b/card and pay the £3 per statement .I will then add it to my claim. I thought that if I estimated the amount it would tale longer to get b/card to refund the charges.
  14. Hi I am in the same boat as everyone else.Just wondering if I should pay for the 4 yrs worth of statements.I have calculated for 2 yrs they owe me £200 so I am debating should I just claim for the £200 or spend £144 for the remaining statements. Can I claim this money back vis the small claims court?

    bev V b/card

Well I have received my copy statements but only 2 years worth.Apparently b/card can't give me the other 4years worth as they are on microfiche and if I still really wanted them I would have to pay £3 per statement. It amazes me how some banks can just provide the info you require and others are just difficult.-and they cashed my cheque. Has anyone got any ideas how I persue this further.Do I just estimate the figure for 6 years. My 2 years latepayment charges amount to £200 so on that basis can I put in a claim for £600. Look forward to your feedback
  16. Hi just thought I would give you an update. I have received the standard letter from Maureen Watson at FD saying they disagree etc and that if I am still unhappy I should contact Robert Kernaghan. As I have had the standard reply should I still wait 14 days before I send the LBA letter.

  19. Hi I asked a question aquestion a couple of days ago. Basically I am now thinking about taking on the credit companies and I was just wondering if they will close the account and ask for the outstanding balance to be cleared.
  20. Hi I am thinking about taking the first step in claiming back all the charges I have incurred over the last 6 years. Does anyone know if it will effect my credit rating. If I decide to try and reclaim all my charges I think I will tackle one account at a time just to see how I get on. Would love to hear your views on this
