  1. It’d be kind of like how the Golden Razzberries are to the Oscars-I always find much more truth in them!
  2. The Palace Hotel must be a bit hard up for conference parties this year if they let this lot in. Shame there weren't any sabotage attempts by disgruntled hotel staff who’d had dealings with any of the DCAs involved.
  3. Well yeah…actually I’ve been the far east’s most antisocial wotsit for the past month since this came up & tonight the very kind friend who helped me out with the online payment to trust online is taking me out for a few beers. When that " nothing registered " came up I burst into tears …you have no idea,he was really worried about me I think
  4. Aagh, gotcha. Wasn't sure if it might be worth a shot. So it's pretty much a question of just waiting things out then? Grr. Looks like there's not much option
  5. Never knew I could do that UB ,thanks. Only problem is I don't have anything connecting me to my last address anymore,it’s been so long & don't really want to get in touch with my last landlord as I’m pretty sure he doesn't like me much what with all the collection letters they probably got for me there Anyway I’m guessing that it's shot to ribbons so…hmm. I am feeling a bit better about this & next week I plan to get in a complaint to the ICO at least like Cerberus said I could do a while back. Just trying to stand a bit firmer than I have been doing of late if poss. This has all been a bit of a weird learning experience for me.
  6. I have one piece of good news at least, just checked trust online & nothing registered so am I right in assuming nothing was raised or there was something & it already expired?
  7. Sorry renegadeimp,no offence taken. Thanks for all your advice up until now and again my apologies for being a pain. I am listening to you. It's just that this is all very new to me & being on the other side of the world trying to deal with this is really proving difficult for me.
  8. Oh,believe me I am following your advice & just getting everything sent back marked not at this address etc. I’ ve just been feeling so sick recently & all this isn't helping me to get better. It's been about a month now since the first letter arrived. I know you say they can't do anything but my worst fear is that it did go to court at some point in the past (I haven't been able to check that out yet,I wish I just had a card to take care of checking that myself ) & they could send people round to my relative’s address. I really don't want that to happen. They don't seem to believe anything they're being told about me being out of the country which is worrying to me.
  9. Thanks. I suppose it's the not knowing what to expect next that is making things worse for me. I really am trying to stay as calm as possible and your advice is helping me out but it's like every day I expect the worst. I don't know why I bothered to tell them my new address at all sometimes,I honestly thought that was the least I could do as it's my mess.
  10. Useful info unclebulgaria, thanks. Yes,they know she sent on the first letter of course because after I received that I replied to them from my current address. In the meantime while I was waiting for that first letter she received another which she sent back plus they phoned her and she told them I lived overseas & had done for the past 10 years. The most recent 2 letters came in the period after they received my reply with my new address. I just wish they'd stop sending letters to me at her address as it's a big stress not only for me but for her. I’m not there,I don't have any assets in the UK (not much here either!)& I can't pay them anyway:-(
  11. To be honest it's making me mad. They have my address now, they can't keep posting stuff there for me expecting her to fork out for the postage every time to send every single letter on to me. If they have something to say they have my address here & they've sent absolutely nothing here so far (unless it got lost in the post!) I think I’m going to send them a letter again tomorrow. Any idea what to put & what not to put in it would be most welcome.
  12. Haven't heard anything at my address here…but even after sending them my letter with my new address & my relative telling them on the phone that I don't live there, they are still sending letters to her address. She's just sent a couple back in the last week marked "not at this address". I don't know what was in them as she just sent them back unopened…
  13. I will…and I just want to say thanks again to you all for advising me so far,you have been a real help in everything. Virtual tipple of your choice for you all. I may well be back so apologies in advance!
  14. Hi all. I’ve been laid up with a nasty cold since last weekend but I am going to enlist the help of my friend to check that Trust online site this weekend just to put my mind at rest. I haven't heard anything back yet but you know how bad the post was recently so anything’s possible In the meantime (and please don't tell me off for worrying again) I was wondering, just in case they do happen to be chasing up an existing CCJ, now they have my address do you think they'd respond to me by letter at my new address first before re-sending any court documents etc. to my relative’s address? I am definitely going to check once & for all over the weekend so I can take any steps if necessary but as you know I have no idea how this all works & my cold meds are addling my brains more than they usually do. Just want to be one step ahead if you know what I mean.
  15. I know but I am a worryhead…my mind just thinks the worst. Sorry about that. Anyway as a latest development,my relative just told me they phoned her the other night asking if I lived there & she was "What? She’s been living on the other side of the world for the past xx years & hasn't lived at my address properly in at least xxx years!"Well.
  16. I’d have to get a friend to help me out with that as I don't have any credit cards these days. Might get on to that this weekend. About the setting aside stuff, applying to have that done isn't always successful I presume. It might not work in my case because I didn't exactly tell them I was going anywhere
  17. Well,we’ll see, they might come back at me saying it was CCJd x amount of years ago yet.
  18. Well, they got my letter anyway. Sent it super fast airmail with a signature needed on delivery & I was able to track all of this online. My only hope right now is that they'll at least update their records with my address. I know they have no reason to believe me but I could give them plenty of proof. Plus if they called my relative she'd give out my address anyway which surprise surprise would be exactly the same as the one I gave them.
  19. I will do that. I hope they do get the message that I’m not there though. There’d be no record of me having been in the UK since 2002 anyway! Aargh. How possible would it be to get any link on my credit file removed from that address out of interest? I don't want my mum to get into any unnecessary strife because of my actions. Yes I do know it's a bit late in the day for all this but still. She's not the sort to use credit & everything she has is all bought & paid for. I wish I’d learnt better by example
  20. Thanks renegadeimp, useful. So what would happen now that the DCA have my address here, would they update my credit file with this address? Sorry but as you know I’m really relying on you guys for advice.
  21. I don't think they've sent anything to my relative’s address so far as they would’ve told me about it. You're almost certainly right about the credit file being marked as such, but seeing as they would’ve been able to see it as a previous address, why wait so flippin’ long? Anyway,I’ll certainly pass on that info. They'd tell anyone I didn't live there anyway as I haven't in donkeys years. I’d rather they knew for certain that I’m definitely not there now.
  22. Bit late unclebulgaria-sorry I didn't see your post,I was at the post office-I’m lucky enough to live in a part of town where they have a late night counter for sending stuff so I sent my letter & it should be with them in 1-2 days as I sent it via super swift trackable airmail. Yes,I did give them my address here. To be honest I’d rather take anything they throw at me from where I actually am. Kept a copy of my letter etc. of course. I don't suppose it would be worth it in the interim to shoot them an email would it? Probably not. If it was that easy to trace me via a CRA in the first place why the hell did anyone wait until now? I’m quite confused.
  23. Ok then I’ll ask for the 2nd letter to be sent on to me then. Thanks for that.
  24. Weird why don't they put that other address on the letter? The one they put is in Glasgow:!: I’ll use the Glasgow one if you think that's best. Cerberus, what should I do about the second one do you think? Bin or return?
  25. Ok thank you Cerberus, now shall I address it to their PO box or their address in Scotland which is at the bottom of the letter? And should the 2nd letter just be sent back or just binned? Sorry for being a complete pain again…
