Hi all,
I just need some advice about working hours and how you work this out. I know that seems odd!
I work for an airline and fly longhaul. I have seen that 'work' is classed as anything you do for your employer in return for payment. I also had a look at 'qualifying remunerative work' here:
http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/manuals/tctmanual/tctm02450.htm
Now, when I am away I am on duty for the entire period, therefore according to that document I am classed as 'working' and I am getting my hourly rate.
I would usually expect to do 1 flight a week which equates to about 45 hours, is that what I list on my claim form as my weekly working hours?
Any help much appreciated!!
Thank you!!

In case anyone has the same problem understanding what is counted, the answer from the CAB is:
For the purposes of Tax Credits any hours for which you are paid are
counted in their calculation.
It is therefore important that you include these hours.
