The retailer is PC World. The model of the Laptop was Advent, it wasn't anything special. My wife bought it for college use.She switched to Internet banking but lost her details for a long while and even when she began logging in it was sparingly. She thought after cancelling it was done and dusted. As mentioned I've lectured her on how she must check her statements going forward.

Afternoon! Bit of a long winded one here My wife purchased a laptop around 5 years ago and she was missold the PC Performance Plan. She was told that she has to take it out with the Laptop however after a couple of weeks she found out thatthis was not the case and cancelled the Policy. The Laptop finance cost £7.99 a month over 4 years and the PC Performace was also £7.99Now, my wife isn't great at checking her Statments and she mistook the £7.99 as the laptop, she'd never paid...or least thought she'd never paid it becasue she cancelled. Fast forward 4 years when the laptops paid for and she notices £7.99 continously leaving her account. She cancelled it on on May 2011 hoever a new direct reference pops up for £7.99 which she cancelled in June 2012 (please no 'why didn't she check her statement comments, if I had know about it I would have berated her myself). She took it to PC world and with a bit of 2ing and froing between the Store and the Call Centre she decided to mail them the problem. Their stance is they won't offer a refund despite confirmation that the policy was cancelled due to the amount of time between the purchase date a nd present date and that its the customers reponsibility to check their statements.I mailed back saying that I wasn't happy and wanted an explanation as to why a DD had been reinstated which resulted in a woman calling and being extremmely rude and shouting down the phone saying it was all my wifes fault. Its as though they've done no wrong!Any ideas on where my wife stands legally in getting a refund?
