Thanks Nev Met - I can believe it, ridiculous as it is! It's ok, I'm going to write to them with photos and say I clearly wasn't causing any problems and that if they want me to pay they can take me to court. From what I've read, that seems to be pretty effective...

Hi Nev Met, what was the outcome of your discussion with the DVLA? I received a ticket yesterday for parking outside of the designated area (it was very poorly designated!) and am deciding whether to bother appealing or to just ignore it. Asking DVLA to refuse to sell them my data would be ideal, but I'm guessing if it was that easy, everyone would do it. Thanks
