  1. Yeah, I've actually done this but I'm a DDM junkie, it seems so much more convenient. Although the rebel in me tells me to fight the buggers.
  2. Just a quick question. I'm about to change jobs and the pay date has changed from the 15th to the 28th, I took it upon myslef to ring all the companies that I hold a direct debit with and asked them to change my due date which they did in seconds whilst I was on the phone. All except one which was Clydesdale financial services, they told me that they would charge £25 for the privelage, I asked for their terms and coditions and a schedule of their charges which they refused. Can they do this?
  3. I had an out of court settlement today for just over £2000. I followed the advice on this forum and didn't panick or falter. If anyone needs advice please just ask. All you really need is patience and nerve, the banks are relying on the fact that people drop out through fear of the unknown, remember not one case has gone to court and it is extremely unlikely.
  4. I agree with newbody, if anything this may encourage the bank to settle more quickly. Not a single case has gone to court, not one. Just persevere.
  5. Hi, I am at the allocation questionaire stage, taking the Abbey to court. All the tactics that I have been warned to expect from the Abbey are exactly as stated on this site, spookily so. I'm sure they're reading this too and following the instructions!! Anyway, I'm doing this as a matter of principle I have recently paid off my debts and finacially stable again, phew. What I'd like to know is, when the Abbey decide to settle my claim in full to avoid court, can I refuse and force them into court thereby forcing a precedent? I'm not bothered about getting the money owed quickly but I'd like to teach the buggers a lesson and make it easier for others to claim........
