  1. andytorch - Thanks. I joined this site and sadly it does seems to be valid and there is also a second so there is a lot for me to do! ganymede - To cut a long story short, I lost my job and we rented out the house for 6 months as I managed to pick up temporary work in London and redirected post during this. On top of this, I did bury my head in the sand when it seemed that I received a letter everyday asking for money and found it hard to open these letters at one point so your right that I probably am at fault here. Saying this, I saved everything and I cant find the official documents for this, I literally spent the whole night last night filing papers - its a real mess I can tell you and Im commited to putting it right, but I cant see where to start and cant see an end to this.
  2. Hello, Im new here. I have read a lot of this forum but getting a little confused so hopefully someone can help. My wife and I have received his and hers letters from Bryan Carter informing me of a final charging order. The hearing was last month and there is a photocopy of a land registry document which all looks very official. The amount is just shy of £1500. However the card debt was originally for £500 and I had offered to pay a small amount each month or £200 as a final settlement. I have seen nothing regarding either a CCJ or a charging order and defiantly not been offered to attend a court hearing. I think that I can contest the CCJ (thread 104473) or am I just opening up a lot of hassle for myself here. I have very little (if any) equity in my house and other unsecured larger debts, totally £37,000. I have struggled for the last 18 months to pay the bills and mortgage and being behind on debts is very stressful. Im not sure where to start here so any advice is gratefully welcome!
