  1. The letter from Croydon County Court reads as such... 'On 23rd April 2012, A Proper Officer of the Court sitting at Croydon County Court, The Law Courts...considered the application and the award made to the applicant on 4th August 2011 by the Employment Tribunal and the court orders that 1. The applicant may enforce the award in this court. 2. The respondent pay the applicants costs of the application , which are to be added to the amount unpaid under the award. 3 The amount enforceable is: £3,000 together with any further interest becoming due.' In a box at the bottom there is a boxed section that reads... 'Notes to the respondent This order means that your goods may be removed and sold or that some other enforcement proceedings may be taken against you. Further costs may then be payable. The applicant may be entitled to further interest on the award until the amount due is paid.' I can scan the letter over to you if this would help?
  2. That is what I thought. What would you advise? Oh, your information on Statutory Declaration was very helpful. I am sorting this out next week with my parents.
  3. Hi ploddertom, I visited the Citizen Advice Bureau today and they were sort of helpful. They advised that I needed to write to both the solicitors and my ex-employer with a financial breakdown of my expenditures and then if I receive now response I should deal with the HCEO when they arrive with records of my attempt to come to an arrangement. Is this sound advice as I explained what I have done since then? Many thanks
  4. Thank you. I have to say this is the worse financial situation I have been in. I do not like owing people money, especially when the person in question has no concept of reality in regards to his treatment of employers. Unfortunately I was not successful, but anyway onwards and upwards. I will keep you update in regards to this. The sooner I can resolve this, the better.
  5. Thank you so much for you help with this matter. This forum has been a great relief with stress and a fantastic source of information.
  6. Thank you so much for your advice. I will post with updates if that is okay? Knowing my ex-employer he does not work within the parameters of reality and will this pushed. I know it's a case of waiting, but I like to be prepared for these things mentally. This may sound like a silly question, and your advice has been ever so helpful, but with the Statutory Declaration where can this be obtained?
  7. Thank you for your reply. I only received a notification of the cost and then after my communication with my ex-employer the letter from his solicitors Saturday. When I spoke with them Wednesday they were passing this through to the HCEO today. I don't own a vehicle and I am currently living with my parents, so none of the goods in the property are mine apart from clothing. There is is no record of a CCJ at the moment except the letter I received from Croydon County Court and also correspondence from the solicitors. What are the implications to my parents property if the HCEO turns up? As they own everything in the house and the vehicle is theirs I wouldn't suspect they can do anything?
  8. Hi, I've been reading through these forums and the advice given is amazing. I need a little assistance as to what to do with my current situation. The background to my story is that a colleague and I took a former employer to an employment tribunal a year ago and we were unsuccessful and had to cost of £6,000 which were split evenly between us. After the judgement was passed I contacted the solicitors who were working on my ex-employers behalf and advised I was in no financial position to pay my share of £3,000 outright and wanted to set a payment plan up. I received no response from them and, as with life, other things came along and I went from full time employment to part-time. I then received a letter from Croydon county court over two weeks ago advising of the payment and to contact them. I promptly did so and they advised that it was already going to a High Court Enforcement officer. I took their advice and contacted my ex-employer immediately stating my intention to pay and the amount I could afford without causing me financial strain. I received no response and then a letter from his solicitors, whom I emailed prior, arrived stating that my proposal of payment was insufficient and not acceptable to their client and I needed to pay £2,000 and then subsequently £250 every month till the debt was paid. By this time the amount has gone from £3,000 to £3,555. I spoke with the solicitors and advised them of my situation and they advised that was all they were authorised to agree to and this was being passed to a HCEO. I really need advise on how to stop this and make them see I am willing to pay, but I can't pay the full amount. I am visiting the CAB tomorrow as the information you have given to others has really been helpful. Thank you
