Not necessarily, EDF have some discretion in collection of debt. There is a limit to what amount can be taken from benefits towards arrears. -

Hi as far as I know, if you are in receipt of certain benefits payment of arrears is limited to 19% of top up on prepayment card. E.g. £20 top up £3.80 towards arrears, £16.20 towards prepayment. Easiest way contact EDF credit control direct -
