  5. Hi rbrears, just wanting a bit of advice really. I have recieved an offer of £805 for claiming £1500 but that was before i knew about claiming six years. should I accept that as partial settlement and then ask for dpa and claim for the rest or decline and ask for dpa?
  6. my husband had this problem with a credit card he had 9 years ago. thay recently sent him a letter asking for the money but it was a different debt collection agency. i contacted citizen's advice and they said if you dont admit to having the debt with the debt collection agency they can not do anything. its only when you admit to it they can take you to court. Don't quote me on this but we haven't heard anything since. good luck:-)
  7. Thank you all for your guidance it is really helping me.So do you think i should exept offer in partial payment and inform them that i will be claiming for the rest, then send dpa and see what response i get? not really sure where to start.
  8. i'm going to go for the whole lot, just been looking at my account on line and i've just been charged another £280. going to send of for charge list and decline first offer. fingers crossed.
  9. Thank you nnelson and karnevil for your replies i will keep you posted. I'm just abit scared that i will get confused with this process and lose, looks quite complicated. This site is great it's given me abit more confidence to claim. thank you:roll:
  10. Before i knew about being able to claim back charges i sent a letter to abbey complaining about the fact I had been charged over £1200 since april 06. I recieved a letter from abbey 17/06/06 saying they will refund £805 now i don't know what to do. Do I ask for 100% and claim as you all are or shut up and take the £805. I have not asked for bank statements so don't know what i could expect to get. Thank you to anyone who reply's.
