  1. many thanks sorry to sound thick if my letter says 11500 which includes the interest how do I even begin to guess what the interest amount is please>is there a formula to work it out?
  2. If my payout is £11500 I am a taxpayer through my job I think I pay more than basic rate I earn £38000 a year. simple interest at 8% has been included in my payout - has anyone a rough guestimate as to how much tax I would have to pay please just so if I get a bill it is not such a shock and I can keep the money to one side? Would it mean I have to do a self assessment form because I am not self employed or anythign like that I work for a company and get monthly payslips with my tax deducted. thanks for any help it's worrying me.
  3. thanks Ims21 no I haven't I have written a letter today back to the TSB telling them I want all the info on ppi and the agreements and breakdown of payments and they have not fulfilled my SAR request, I know we had protection though they would never had given us the mortgages without it. Without any proof how do I even begin to proceed on this one? especially as the mortgages were over 6 years ago! any advice? many thanks
  4. thanks for your support I have done this I hope you can access it (apologies I think it may be upside down my machine wont let me save it when I alter it round I am crossing everything that you can turn it round to read it...
  5. thanks for any help DX I hope this works I'm really sorry I cant get them to save the other way round ppi docs006.pdf hoping you can turn it round to read it?
  6. my mortgage with TSB was for £55000. They have sent SAR info but I cannot work out which bit of it is PPI but I know I took it out. How do I estimate this please can anyone help me work it out? help
  7. If a debt was sold on from barclays to Max recovery where do I stand claiming PPI from Balrclays? Previously in an IVA now completed. many thanks
  8. We successfully completed an IVA some time ago. Are now going through getting SARs to do PPI. In relation to the TSB, we had numerous loans cr cards that were refinanced etc some going back to 2001 even. Can we put in a claim for all of them even though they are outside the 6 years? How strict is the 6 years one claim is about a month outside of this at the moment and we await more SAR information expected any time. Then, do we put in a joint letter stating all the account numbers or do we submit one letter for each claim and send them separately (If we did this and claim for everything we'd be putting about 10 claims)? Do we just write a letter like the template or do we have to enclose a questionnaire as I am unable to find the questionnaire? Confused any help would be really appreciated.
  9. We eventually received out SAR from the TSB. From the papers I can only count up about £3,500 in PPI. However, as we were customers with them since the 1980's we believe we have probably paid something like a minimum of £20,000 in ppi. It states that credit card statements are not available prior to Dec 2004 due to retention periods and a card that closed in 2001 there is no available info. They have not been able to locate a copy of a signed agreement for another credit card and they are unable to provide a copy of the original loan application statements due to time elapsed since its inception as we opened the account some 17 years ago. What shall I do? We also had two mortgages with them and they have not sent any info in relation to these either, we had the mortgages approx 1993-98 and 98-2003. Shall I write back to the SAR dept and what info do I include or do I just do the claim based on the figures in the info they have sent to me and estimate the rest which i will find impossible to do really? I'd be happy to let someone see what they have actually sent me I dont think it helps me much at all really. thaks for any help.
  10. what about a debt that got sold on eg from Barclays to Maxrecovery, do i still write to Barclaycard?
  11. I got it from an old loan agreement I found that we had protection on. Also, Ims if we had eg a joint loan am I right in thinking I'll get all the info I need from just one SAR in either name? I'm having a worry attack reading about goiong to Court. Will my ppi application only go to court if I take it there (I was previously in an IVA)
  12. does anyone know if Capital Bank are the same as Capital One (I'm trying to work out if they are the same for my SARS requests or if they are different with different data controllers? many thanks
  13. With Amex if you I no longer have an account with them where will I collect the SAR from please as there are no officer near me? Same with First Direct and HSBC?
  14. Can Ims or anyone else help please. I'm about to collect my first SAR pack from the TSB. I am also about to do SARS requests from others eg. Amex. With Amex and First Direct where will I have to collect the SARS pack from as I don't know of any offices anywhere near me? Any advice welcomed many thanks again.
  15. thanks dx i'm starting with 2 SAR requests to the TSB today as they were our biggest lender then we'll go from there Boston (how likely is it that they will want more than £10 per SAR?)
  16. hello I am new to all of this. Can I say well done to anyone who has had a successful ppi claim. My husband and I previously had several credit cards and loans and 2 mortgages. I don't have all the paperwork. I know some of the account nos for the TSB (for husband and I)but not all we had credit cards loans and 2 mortgages with them. I will apply for a SAR from the TSB. For the others, I have most of the account nos but not enoough info to work out how much to ask for - is it sufficient that I have the account nos please or do I need a SAR for each one to ensure I get all that i may be owed? If things were in both hubbys name and mine some were separate is it £10 for each SAR for each of us so £20 if it involved both of us? Sorry to sound thick any advice really appreciated I think we could be owed a lot of money. My husband wants to get a claims company to handle it so I dont get stressed but I believe I'd be better off handling this myself. We were previously in an IVA we have successfully completed this and have had the completion certificate for some time so now would be a good time to go for PPI, especially as we always were lead to believe thaat if we did not take it out we would not get the credit and if it were not for that we would have been able to pay all of our bills for a lot longer we were paying literally a few hundred plus every month on these things and that's just what I can remember. Also, what about a debt that got sold on eg from Barclays to Maxrecovery, do i still write to Barclaycard? Sorry for so many question but there are so many of you who can help me and any info or advice appreciated. Do you really think I may have a claim(s)? Can I really do this? Will it cost me anything other than for the SARs please? Absolutely any info at all welcomed I am totally ignorant on this issue. many thanks anyone. When I read about people going to Court this worries me, when would this happen? sorry if this post should be elsewhere hoping someone can move it for me. Boston

  19. Hi ims thank you and please can you tell me - if I have some account information but not enough to do full workings out to put an amount in the letters, is it still ok to send the request with what information I do have and leave it to them as to how much they pay out or is it better to do a SAR eg with the TSB we had several credit cards and several loans? With the other companies though we have the account numbers but are unable to work out the exact amount so is it ok to leave the amount out and let them work it out? many thanks Boston
  20. Hi there Any advice appreciated I have literally just discovered this forum. We (hubby and I) may have about 6 ppi claims. We'd like to put this into the hands of a company to deal with where there are no up front charges and no win no fee so less hassle for us really. We have some papers but not all of them. It's just over 5 years ago but we were paying literally hundreds every month on credit cards and loans with different people eg lloyds, barclays, RSB, Capital 1. I'm just worried we may get charged by an ireputable company so who do we know who we can trust? Is there anyone out there who can give us good feedback on a firm they have used please? Any advice appreciated we are aware we need to get the ball rolling to be in the itmescale to be able to claim but are just worried about it. Boston x
