  1. Hi I had a lovely phone call yesterday from a guy at the OFT regarding my witness statement. The bits I am allowed to repeat related to unfair and charges that do not add up and he also mentioned names not on the licence and about abuse and threats from staff. The juicy thing - "this company is very unprofessional and we are looking at what to do with its licence as there are so many complaints and so many rules broken." Thats all he was allowed to say and nothing is final yet as more complaints keep coming in but my witness statement and the documents I provided where very similar to others. I guess it pays to complain. Back to the point that I should only pay the original amount and 1 months interest - since I have paid more than that, does that mean I should just ignore them now and pay no more money?
  2. Yes it's Toothfairy. Does that mean once I have paid back the original loan amount (£300) and one months interest (£54) I don't have to pay anymore? I have already paid this plus more and they still want more money. One thing is though I didnt recieve a copy of the agreement which I was told meant the loan wasn't enforceable anyway
  3. Well the company has already been warned by thr OFT before foir trading on names that were not on its credit licence, making false claims and statements and threatning and abuse to customers as well as charging fees not in proportion to the amount owed
  4. Hello I have a quick question. What happens if you owe money to a company that is being shut down by the financial authorities? Once the company is shut down do you have to carry on paying or is the debt wiped off since the business does not exist? Thanks Steven
  5. Thanks. I initially complained to Consumer Direct who then forwarded it onto my local trading standards who have to pass it buy the OFT. The OFT said yes almost straight away. It's quite amazing how many people these companies have mucked around and it wasn't much of a surprise that they had been in trouble before. I hope they are shut down and find thousands. If they are shut down what would happen to my debt? There was also something that the trading standards guy pointed out this morning. On one email it stated I owed 350 + 145 GBP which Totalled £775. I assume they haven't heard of calculators
  6. Im curently having trouble with Toothfairy/NDR/MHB Background - pressured into taking out a loan with toothfairy for £300. Got made redundant couldnt pay it back. Kept trying to contact Toothfairy - they would not reply then a few months went by and I recieved a text from NDR saying I owed £x and I agreed to pay £x by a certain date. This was not true. Last week after a large gap MHB contacted me and after I asked them to email me something it came from NDR. Now today I have vistied my local trading standards office at my local council. Last week I just explained the situation and the guy I spoke to contacted the OFT asking if they want the company investigated. Today I had an appoinment for a witness statement against Toothfairy and the rest of them with all my emails and returned post etc. Basically the OFT are Currently investigating these companies - I would advise going to trading standards at your local council explaining the situation and they will contact the OFT on your behalf. The OFT are collecting as many witness statements as possible as many of the problems currently arising are what toothfairy have been in trouble before over. Toothfairy can be closed down and the directors can have an unlimited fine althought there would be nothing stopping the directors opening another company to do the same again just using someone else as a front man. Toothfairy/NDR/MHB still refusing to talk to me and apparently MHB have never visited anybodys home.....
