  1. I phoned Gareth Tunicliffe today. he got back to me just now..after a bit of blurb about them not accepting they acted unlawfully etc. etc. he settled in full..with interest!!! .. and even agreed to make my payments this month (minimum, arrears and fees) from the lump sum. Nice chap! Quite a surreal experience to be suddenly talking to someone that you have read so much about..like walking in on a soap opera lol I'll make a donation to the site next month when I get paid.. All the MBNA money has gone into my debt.. But a great result! Thanks to those that have helped me here..
  2. They came up with an offer of £804 for the £1848 they owe me ..without interest ! I sent this back by recorded delivery today FINAL LETTER BEFORE ACTION Dear Ms Claridge Thank you for your letter dated 29 Aug 06. I am happy to accept your offer of £840 as part settlement for the £1848 owing to me for unlawful fees. Please be aware that this initial amount did not include any interest, I calculate this to be an additional £808.69 at 8%APR, making a grand total owing of £2656.68. This will be the amount I am claiming for in the courts. I am starting legal proceedings at the end of this month (September 06) so would be grateful for your quick response. Please be aware that my card was cancelled a long time ago, so your threat of cancellation can have no bearing on my decision.
  3. Hi, I got a reply from them bang on the 40 days allowed! The address I sent to is the same as you. I've sent my next letter asking for the fees back with in 14 days.. Just have to see what happens next

  6. Hi Fairly new here.. I sent my DPA letter to MBNA in Chester on 16th June..heard nothing yet! Robert
  7. Hi I joined the forum on 16th July, and sent the DPA letter to MBNA the same day.. I am still waiting for any sort of reply ! I'll keep you posted..they owe me a lot of money. I fell seriously ill 4 years ago.. they informed me my payment protection (that I had been paying £19 a month for for 2 years was wortless because I was on contracted employment!) The upshot being they charged me late payment fees, over limit fees and the works each and every month I was in hospital and unable to work..which put payments out off my reach..it just escalated..usual story I guess Can anyone point me in the direction of where to go next if I don't hear from them witihn the 40 days ? Cheers! Robert
