  1. Hi, I wonder whether you can help me. I am insured with Aviva through an insurance broker. A few months into my policy I changed that car I am driving. The insurance broker told me that because the new car's engine is smaller than the previous one the insurance will be cheaper and because I finished paying for my insurance I will have a credit of £500 with Aviva. When I asked for this money back the broker told me that Aviva have made a mistake and not only that I don't have a credit of £500, I owe them £170. The problem is that Aviva say that because they had a problem with their electronic system it's not their fault and because the new quote was given to my insurance broker on the phone they don't stand behind what they say as it is not a written quote (although all their calls are recorded). What can I do to get my money back? is it the Aviva's fault or the insurance broker? Thanks a lot for the helpers, I hope it's clear... Jose
  2. Hi all, I have a question. 1. I have got a good quote from Haven Insurance, is it a good company to be insured with? Thank you, Jose
  3. Hi, I had to send a tax credit documents through a fax, because I do not have a fax machine at home I did so in an Internet Cafe near my home. On the tax credit document there is my name and my wife's name including our both national insurance number. My question is: Is it bad if anyone get hold of this information? Can it be used against me? (fraud etc.) Thanks for your help!
  4. Yes, I responded. I acknowledged service and made a plea. I did not know until now that I can get assistance with legal costs, I was doing it all on my own until now. I don't exactly understand the consequences and a County Court judgment, say the Court decides that I have to pay the solicitor £25 a month over 5 years which I do. will I be placed then on the register?
  5. There is no CCJ for the initial case as it was a criminal matter, which is finished now. I'm a university student and I'm not going to be able to pay him the full amount immediately, I assume that even in case that the judge decides on his favor he will let me pay a small and specific amount every month. In case I do pay this money monthly but not the whole amount immediately, am I going to be placed on the county court judgment register? It says on the P.o.C that the solicitor has acted on my behalf that that there is money outstanding, there is no argument about the fact the He represented myself but I claim that He was negligent and did not explain and give me my right in fully, the main argument that I have is that He did not let me know prior to the criminal proceeding that I had the choice between being tried in the magistrates court and the crown court. Thanks for your help, Jose
  6. Thank you, I have made a complaint to the legal ombudsman and they decided that the solicitor did not provide poor service. I still hope that the judge will decide on my favour but I prepare myself to the case that He does not...my question is actually simple: what are the consequences if the court decides that I owe the money?
  7. Hi, A solicitor has represented me on a court case, He lost the case and I believe that He was negligent of dealing with the case. After paying him few thousands of pounds He asked me for more money, I refused and told him that He was negligent dealing with my case and that He should compensate me. He has put a court claim against myself for few thousands pounds. My question is: what happens if the judge decides that I owe him the money? am I going to be registered immediately with a court judgment which will make me limited from taking loans and mortgages in future or only if I don't pay him the money within a certain time? Thanks for your help, Jose
  8. It was sexual touching over clothing without consent. basically, a girl my age said that I touched her over clothing, I said that I didn't but she was believed. I know what I'm not allowed to work in jobs with vulnerable people in the UK, my question is: Can affect me when applying to a business oriented job? Thanks,
  9. Hi, I have one criminal conviction which is not 'spent' yet. I'm going to graduate next year and going to start looking for a job now. I probably want to do some marketing or sales job. 1. Are future employers going to ask me to tell them about any convictions? 2. Is an employer allowed taking it in his consideration of whether to accept me or not? Thanks, Josee
