  1. Hi all This may seem a bit trivial but just want to know what others think. I had a hospital appointment and parked in the hospital car park. The pay and display charges were £2 per hour, so I put in £4 just to be safe, but when I pressed the button for the ticket it simply gave me £1 and no ticket! A bloke nearby said that he'd tried to get my attention before I put the money in as it had been doing that earlier. So I went to the other machine and had to put in another £2 to be able to park...actually it was all the change I had on me anyway. When I complained to the security person there he said that there's no proof that the machine is faulty or that I had put in £4. While I was disputing this someone else walked by and said 'good luck if you can get your money back as it kept £3 of mine this morning!'. So clearly the machine has a problem. Cut a long story short, the security person said he can't give me my money back although he had every sympathy with me! In the meantime, I've found out the who the firm is that operates that hospital carpark; am I entitled to the money lost in the machine? And is there any legal footing I can stand on to get my money back. I realise it's not a fortune but its the principle of the thing. All views welcome.
